Lower Parking: From Verbania, continue along the lake shore towards Cannobio on the SS 34. At Km 25, turn left towards Donego – Oggiogno. At a fork, turn left towards Donego and after about 200 m take a steep road on the right going uphill. The road is very steep and unpaved in sections; currently, it is only a temporary bypass road replacing the main one closed due to a landslide. Upon reaching the village, turn left immediately (sharp curve) and descend to the bridge over the stream, parking near a closed tunnel. Upper Parking1. Return to the village and continue uphill towards Oggiogno. After a hairpin bend, turn left towards Alpe Ronno. After another hairpin bend, near a fountain, the trail begins; park before or after where possible (car shuttle 2 km, also doable on foot).

Difficult orientation. From the fountain, ascend along the obvious marked trail, passing a first cabin. As soon as you enter the woods, before reaching a second cabin, a few faint tracks branch off to the left on the flat. Take one of these tracks (they all lead to the same area) and continue flat without gaining elevation. After crossing two small streams, the track disappears in an area with numerous fallen trees. This is the most critical navigation point. Slightly upstream there is a water supply station, a useful landmark for orientation. About 80 m downstream of the station, you pick up the trail again, marked by a few cairns. Continue mostly on the flat, following the cairns, which are not always easy to spot. Upon reaching a ridge, now with the stream in view, the path descends steeply down to the stream bed. 45 min if you don't get lost. An approach without a car shuttle is possible along the road, approximately 2 km.

Only the highest (penultimate) rappel—which is under the main flow and with no visibility—could cause issues in high flow conditions. Variations: - The upper section starting from Alpe Ronno has also been descended. Open, very uninteresting, and discontinuous. All on natural anchors, max 70 m rope. - There is also an equipped lower section starting from the lower parking area. Although the start looks promising, descending it is discouraged. Just after the first rappel, a landslide has choked the stream, and the remainder is a jungle of brambles all the way down to the lake.

After the last rappel and a short boulder field, the stream bed opens up significantly. Continue along the stream bed or along the banks in the woods (where possible) down to the bridge and the car (30 min).
