Fairly continuous stream, with nice narrow gorge passages.
Access:
Lower Parking: From Verbania, continue along the lake shore towards Cannobio on the SS 34. At Km 37, park at a pullout just before the stream exit.
Upper Parking: Head back along the road for about 1 km and turn right towards Cinzago. Reach the village and park where possible shortly before the paved road ends.
Approach (10 min):
Walk through the village and continue along a mule track towards the Sanctuary of San Bartolomeo. After 10 minutes you cross the stream, which is the starting point of the descent.
Tour (4 h 30):
A few rappels might present some issues only in high flow conditions. The anchor for the 50 m rappel (C50) is not easy to reach if you descend too far from the previous rappel. Locate the anchor before rappelling down.
Return (5 min):
Exit directly at the car. If you continue all the way down to the lake, pay attention to private properties.
