In Almunecar von der N 340 ab und auf der SO 2 nordwärts über Jete und Otivar, bis rechts die Straße nach Lenteji abzweigt (13 km ab Almunecar). Auf dieser in Serpentinen aufwärts. Ca. 500 m vor Erreichen der Ortschaft (630 m ü.NN) auf eine befestigte Straße rechts abbiegen (Schilder 'Piscina' und 'Polideportivo'), die zuerst weit nach Süden ausholend hinauf zum dem oberen neuen Ortsteil von Lenteji mit Schwimmbad und Sportzentrum führt. So kann man die enge und steile Ortsdurchfahrt vermeiden. Nach Durchfahren des Neubauviertels auf der 'Calle Nueva' endet der Teerbelag, linkerhand steht ein Haus mit der Aufschrift 'El Secanillo' und die Straße wird zur Betonpiste. Auf dieser Piste weiter. Nach 2,5 km - inzwischen fehlt der Betonbelag - sieht man links ein beiges Haus auf einem Hügel; unterhalb des Hauses schießt Wasser aus einem Bewässerungskanal, gespeist von der nahen Guadajama-Quelle. Weiter auf der Piste aufwärts bis zum nächsten Sattel. Wir bewegen uns durch einen lichten Pinienwald. Nach dem Sattel geht es leicht abwärts und am tiefsten Punkt (860 m ü.NN) quert die Piste ein (meist) trockenes Bachbett. Etwa 50 m weiter zweigt links ein Feldweg in die Olivenplantagen ab. Hier Auto abstellen, falls man dies nicht schon vorher aufgrund des Pistenzustandes gemacht hat.

In Almunecar, leave the N340 and head north on the SO2 via Jete and Otivar until the road to Lenteji branches off to the right (13 km from Almunecar). Follow this road upwards in serpentines. About 500 m before reaching the village (630 m above sea level) turn right onto a paved road (signs 'Piscina' and 'Polideportivo'), which first leads far to the south up to the new upper part of Lenteji with swimming pool and sports center. In this way it is possible to avoid the narrow and steep passage through the town. After passing through the new district on 'Calle Nueva', the tarred surface ends, on the left hand side there is a house with the inscription 'El Secanillo' and the road becomes a concrete track. Continue on this road. After 2.5 km - by now the concrete surface is missing - on the left you will see a beige house on a hill; below the house water shoots out of an irrigation canal, fed by the nearby Guadajama spring. Continue up the dirt road to the next saddle. We move through a sparse pine forest. After the saddle, the trail descends slightly and at the lowest point (860 m a.s.l.) crosses a (mostly) dry streambed. About 50 m further on, a dirt road branches off to the left into the olive plantations. Park your car here if you have not already done so due to the condition of the slope.

Durch die Olivenhaine möglichst weit abwärts, bis man auf die Macchia trifft. Hier findet sich links im Bachbett der erste Abseiler.

Descend through the olive groves as far as possible until you meet the maquis. Here you will find the first rappel on the left in the streambed.

Der Palomas eignet sich ebenso wie der benachbarte Guadajana nur als Zustiegsmöglichkeit zum Lenteji. Außer 2 halbwegs attraktiven Abseilern und viel (Dornen-)Gestrüpp kann er nur Landschaft bieten.

Da man sinnvollerweise zuerst im Bco. Guadajana, später dann im Canón del Lentegi weitergeht (2,5 Std.), erfolgt der Ausstieg aus diesem (wie dort beschrieben). Allerdings könnte man nach dem Zusammenfluss mit dem Guadajana links aussteigen und auf einem Pfad auf dessen orograf. linken Ufer wieder hinauf zur Anfahrtspiste: http://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=5737174 Eine weitere Aufstiegsmöglichkeit bietet ein Steig, der vor der Mündung in den Lentegi links hinauf ebenfalls zur Anfahrtspiste führt.

As it makes sense to continue first in the Bco. Guadajana, and later in the Canón del Lentegi (2.5 hours), the exit is from the latter (as described there).
