From Varallo, take the Val Mastallone road and follow it to Fobello, then continue to the end of the road near Santa Maria, where you leave it at the last parking lot (la Gazza)

From the parking there are two paths; follow the one on the left (515 CAI), which almost runs alongside the Mastallone stream, passing through a pretty village. Then, cross a bridge over the Mastallone and go up the Piane valley. Man gelangt zum höchsten und technisch anspruchsvollsten Wasserfall: MC7 (links, Einzelpunkt) führt zum C17 links, einer engen Passage, in der es schwierig ist, aufrecht zu stehen, dann C30 links unter einem schweifartigen Wasserfall. – Diese Passage lässt sich bei hohem Wasserstand über einen langen Handlauf auf der linken Seite umgehen, der zum C30 links führt (teilweise außerhalb der Strömung) – Dann C7 (links, Einzelpunkt), C18 (rechts, mögliche Trockenrutsche rechts), C10 (links), MC vom Baum (rechts) mit anschließender Staffel C23 (rechts, Strudelbecken) + C15 (links, eng). Dann das letzte C5 (links, Einzelpunkt, möglicher Sprung) und man gelangt zum Zusammenfluss mit dem Mastallone.
