A6 bis Spiez, dann Richtung Adelboden abzweigen. In Reichenbach nach links abzweigen und der Strasse bergauf nach Kiental folgen. Weiter bis zum Ende der öffentlich befahrbaren Straße beim gebührenpflichtigen Parkplatz Griesalp (2016: 2 Chf, Wechselautomat für Franken vorhanden)

Take the A6 to Spiez, then turn off towards Adelboden. In Reichenbach, turn left and follow the road uphill to Kiental. Continue to the exit of the public road at the Griesalp parking lot (2016: 2 Chf, change machine for francs available)

Der Strasse bis zu einer Jausenstation folgen, ab hier auf einem Almweg querend durch steiles Gelände bis zum flachen Gamchiboden. Der weitere Aufstieg quert felsiges Gelände und ist stellenweise mit Drahtseilen versichert. Auf etwa 2000m steigt der Wanderweg nach links an um die Gletschermörane oberhalb zu erreichen. Hier nach rechts auf einen sehr undeutlichen Steig abzweigen der den bröseligen Hang direkt zum Einstieg quert (Steinmänner). Will man den Hauptast der Klamm gehen kann man bei der ersten Klamm etwa 90m oberhalb der Brücke einsteigen, ansonsten noch etwa 100m nach Osten um den linken Klammast zu erreichen. Im Winter sind die Brücken über die Engklamm abgebaut. Der Zustieg überquert viele kleine Wasserläufe die im Winter komplett zugefroren sind. Steigeisen und Pickel sind dann notwendig.

Follow the road as far as a snack station, from here cross an alpine path through steep terrain to the flat Gamchiboden. The rest of the ascent crosses rocky terrain and is secured with wire ropes in places. At around 2000m, the hiking trail climbs to the left to reach the glacier meadows above. Here, branch off to the right onto a very unclear path that crosses the crumbly slope directly to the entry (cairns). If you want to walk the main branch of the gorge, you can enter at the first gorge about 90m above the bridge, otherwise walk about 100m to the east to reach the left branch of the gorge. In winter, the bridges over the gorge are dismantled. The access crosses many small watercourses that are completely frozen over in winter. Crampons and ice axes are then necessary.

Hauptast: Erste Abseilstelle am orogr. rechten Schluchtrand knapp oberhalb vom Klammbeginn, dann Abklettern und Abseilen in enger Klamm wo auch der linke Ast einmündet (hier drei Abseilstellen). Im offenen Gelände mit nicht einfachen Abkletterstellen bis zu einem Abbruch oberhalb der Engklamm. Von Felsplatform links 20m Abseilen, dann von Haken rechts unter einen grossen Klemmblock abseilen. Die Abseilstände für den 60m Abseiler befinden sich links. Falls der Wasserstand für ein direktes Abseilen zu hoch ist gibt es einen schwierig zu erreichenden Zwischenstand nach einigen Metern links. Ab hier noch mehrere Abseiler in kompletter Dunkelheit bevor die Klamm mit einen langen, engen Korridor endet.

Main branch: First downclimb on the orographic right canyon rim just above the beginning of the gorge, then downclimb and rappel in the narrow gorge where the left branch joins (here three rappels). In open terrain with not easy downclimbs to a break above the gorge. From the rock platform on the left 20m rappel, then from the anchor on the right under a large clamping block. The rappel points for the 60m rappel are on the left. If the water level is too high for a direct rappel, there is a difficult to reach intermediate stand after a few meters on the left. From here several rappels in complete darkness before the gorge ends with a long, narrow corridor.
