Auf der Autobahn A 2 bzw. A 4 in Richtung St. Gotthard. Am Südostende des Vierwaldstättersees (etwa 2 km nordwestlich der Gemeinde Altdorf) laufen die beiden Autobahnen zusammen. Von hier fährt man noch 55,5 km auf den Gotthard zu und verlässt die A 2 dann bei der Ausfahrt Wassen.\nHier links ab auf die alte Gotthardstraße, unter der A 2 durch und 600 m nach der Unterführung das Auto vor der alten Brücke über die Meienreuss abstellen.\nMit einem zweiten Fahrzeug zurück und in das Zentrum der Ortschaft Wassen. Etwa 100 m nach dem Zentrum (und 1,5 km vom unteren Auto) biegen wir rechts ab auf die Sustenstraße, die uns hinauf bringt in Richtung Meiental. 2,5 km nach der Abzweigung in Wassen kommen wir aus einer langen Lawinengalerie heraus und stellen das zweite Fahrzeug hier am Straßenrand (Parkbucht) ab.

On the A 2 or A 4 highway in the direction of St. Gotthard. The two highways walk together at the south-eastern end of Lake Lucerne (about 2 km north-west of the municipality of Altdorf). From here you drive another 55.5 km towards the Gotthard and then leave the A 2 at the Wassen exit.\nTurn left here onto the old Gotthard road, drive under the A 2 and 600 m after the underpass park your car in front of the old bridge over the Meienreuss.\nReturn with a second vehicle and drive into the center of the village of Wassen. About 100 m after the center (and 1.5 km from the lower car) we turn right onto the Sustenstraße, which takes us up towards Meiental. 2.5 km after the turn-off in Wassen, we come out of a long avalanche gallery and park the second car here at the roadside (parking bay).

Vom Ende der Lawinengalerie laufen wir wieder 270 m zurück und nehmen dann den Fußweg, der hinunterführt zu einem Holzsteg über die Meienreuss. Unterhalb des Steges steigen wir in das Bachbett.

From the exit of the avalanche gallery, we walk back 270 m and then take the footpath that leads down to a wooden footbridge over the Meienreuss. Below the path, we climb into the streambed.

Teilweise mühseliges Abklettern der Granitblöcke, aber mehrere Sprungmöglichkeiten. Attraktives Ambiente.

Partly laborious downclimbing of the granite blocks, but several possible jumps. Attractive ambience.

Nachdem wir unter 3 Brücken durch sind, kommen wir am Ende der Schlucht wieder zu 3 Brücken. Nach der dritten (alten Straßen-) Brücke rechts hinauf zum Auto.

After passing under 3 bridges, we come to 3 bridges again at the exit of the canyon. After the third (old road) bridge, turn right up to the car.
