We leave the AP-7 - Autopista del Mediteráneo, Tarragona to Valencia - just before reaching the Ebro and take the C-12 northward to Tortosa (not quite 20 km to the center of town). In the town we continue on the C-12 northwards in the direction of Lleida. At the big square "Plaça de la Corona d'Aragó" - before reaching the shopping center on the right side - we turn left into the Av. Ports Tortosa-Beseit. First we drive over Roquetes, then we take the Cami de Caro in many serpentines up and reach the Collado de Portell at the beginning of the high valley at the foot of the Monte Caro.\nFrom the view parking lot 300 m after the last left serpentine we drive now 700 m further in the direction of Monte Caro, then a clearly recognizable runway turns off on the right. Here we park our car in a suitable place.

The Salt del Ximenot has 2 branches. In the left one we find a 60m rappel. This is also specially regulated. We take the other, short one and follow the slope through the forest. After emerging from the wakld, we head into the right-hand ditch (NE) and follow it down to the first rappel (20 m clamping block)

2 rappels, then the main canyon (with the C 60) comes from the left, we cross a path and after some downclimbing we come to the R 45. Then we cross a path again (our way back) and after 3 more rappels we descend into the Vall Figuera. In Vall Figuera we walk to its exit (see description there).

Like Vall Figuera: At the iron signpost on the ground, first climb steeply up to the right. Then we cross the Barranco Ximenot, come to the GR 7.6 and over it up to the road.
