Von Nizza auf der N 202 in nördlicher Richtung 24 km bis zur Pont (Brücke) Charles Albert. Hier kann man nicht unmittelbar links auf die D 17 abbiegen, sondern muss noch ca. 100 m weiterfahren, einen Kreisverkehr umrunden, wieder zurück in Richtung Nizza, um dann rechts auf die Brücke über den Var abbiegen zu können. Nun geht es auf der D 17 etwa 8 km in Richtung Roquesteron aufwärts. Wir erreichen Gilette, das wie ein Adlerhorst über Var und Esteron thront. Wir fahren noch 4,5 km weiter auf der D 17 und sehen dann links eine Piste abzweigen. Hier stellen wir unser Auto am Rand der Teerstraße ab.
