Von Ventimiglia fahren wir das Roya-Tal hinauf, durchqueren nach 27 km Breil-sur-Roya und fahren weiter Richtung Tende. Etwa 6 km nach Breil geht es zwischen 2 Tunnels rechts ab und über die Bendola hinauf nach Saorge, wo wir vor der Ortschaft ein Fahrzeug abstellen.
Mit dem anderen geht es zurück nach Ventimiglia, wo wir zuerst Richtung Bordighera fahren, um dann in's Val de Nervia abzubiegen(hier erfolgt auch die Zufahrt zu Buggio und Barbaira). Über Dolceacqua und Isolabona geht es rund 20 km hinter bis Pigna. Von hier geht es hinauf zum Colla di Langan (1127 m ü.NN) und hier links weiter zum Colla Melosa (1540 m ü.NN). Bis hierher asphaltiert, geht die Straße ohne Asphaltauftrag weiter hinauf zum Col Bertrand, bis man schließlich den höchsten Punkt (über 2000 m ü.NN) erreicht.Die Schotterstraße ist in gutem Zustand und ohne weiteres mit Normal-PKW befahrbar, soweit er genügend Bodenfreiheit hat (Querrippen zur Wasserableitung). Am Kamm - wir befinden uns auf der "Ligurischen Grenzkammstraße" - geht es etwas hinunter und etwa 1000 m nach dem höchsten Punkt auf einem Weg in flachem Winkel links ab.
Man kommt zu einige Ruinen und sieht am Hang rechts ein bewohntes Anwesen. Hier das zweite Fahrzeug abstellen.
Die sonst überall beschriebene Auffahrt von der französischen Seite (Roya-Tal) lässt ein 4x4-Fahrzeug angebracht erscheinen, die hier beschriebene Auffahrt erfordert eine längere Umsetzung, ist aber straßenmäßig wesentlich besser.
Von Breil sur Roya kann man sich auch für einen moderaten Preis hinauffahren lassen.
From Ventimiglia, we drive up the Roya valley, cross Breil-sur-Roya after 27 km and continue towards Tende. About 6 km after Breil, we turn right between 2 tunnels and drive over the Bendola up to Saorge, where we park one vehicle before the village.
We take the other back to Ventimiglia, where we first head towards Bordighera and then turn off into the Val de Nervia (this is also the access road to Buggio and Barbaira). Via Dolceacqua and Isolabona, the route continues for around 20 km to Pigna. From here, the road climbs up to Colla di Langan (1127 m above sea level) and continues left to Colla Melosa (1540 m above sea level). Bis zum Biwakplatz gibt es keine echte Ausstiegsmöglichkeit, wenn auch immer wieder Möglichkeiten gegeben sind, sich bei plötzlich anschwellendem Wasser den Hang hinauf in Sicherheit zu bringen.
