Der Albagne ist ein Bach, der parallel zum Bach Les Vernèdes verläuft. Der Les Vernèdes mündet in den Albagne, bevor dieser das Dorf Aumessas erreicht. Vom Bahnhof des Dorfes Aumessas aus nehmen Sie die D299a. Bevor Sie das Dorf verlassen, gibt es eine Haarnadelkurve nach rechts mit einem Weg auf der linken Seite, der „Le Cornier“ genannt wird (IGN-Karte). Parken Sie auf den Parkplätzen am Ende des Weges. Dieser Parkplatz dient auch als Ausgangspunkt für den Weg zu den Vernèdes.

The Albagne is a stream that runs parallel to the Les Vernèdes stream. The Les Vernèdes flows into the Albagne before it reaches the village of Aumessas. From the train station in the village of Aumessas, take the D299a. Before leaving the village, there is a hairpin turn to the right with a path on the left called “Le Cornier” (IGN map). Park in the parking lot at the exit of the path. This parking lot also serves as the starting point for the trail to Les Vernèdes.

Vom Parkplatz aus biegt man links in den Weg ein, der als „Chemin des Cascades“ oder „Chemin botanique“ ausgeschildert ist. Man steigt bergauf und gelangt zu einer ersten Fußgängerbrücke, die man links liegen lässt, und geht weiter bergauf nach rechts. Man erreicht eine zweite Fußgängerbrücke, unter der der Bach „Ruisseau des Vernèdes“ hindurchfließt. Man steigt weiter bergauf, bis man eine Kreuzung erreicht: Ein Weg führt rechts bergauf in Richtung Les Vernèdes. Der andere Weg führt links bergab in Richtung Vernes. Man hält die Richtung Vernes ein. Zwei Minuten später erreicht man eine Brücke, unter der der Albagne hindurchfließt.

From the parking lot, turn left onto the path marked “Chemin des Cascades” or “Chemin botanique.” Follow the path uphill until you reach the first footbridge; pass it on your left and continue uphill to the right. You’ll come to a second footbridge, under which the “Ruisseau des Vernèdes” stream flows. Continue along the path uphill until you reach a fork: one path leads uphill to the right toward Les Vernèdes. The other path leads downhill to the left toward Vernes. Head toward Vernes. Two minutes later, you’ll reach a bridge with the Albagne flowing beneath it.

Vom Steg aus ins Wasser steigen. Es folgt ein mühsamer 1:40-stündiger Marsch über Felsblöcke mit einer Reihe kleiner Abseilstellen an AN (max. Höhe: 6 m). Alles ist kletterbar. Anschließend gelangt man auf eine Plattform mit einer Verankerung in RD (Kette). Ein Handlauf sollte angebracht werden. Abseilen über 16 m. Anschließend Durchgang durch eine Rinne, dann Abseilen über 9 m und 7 m an AN. Man gelangt anschließend in ein sehr schönes Wasserbecken. Der Ausstieg befindet sich am rechten Ufer am Ende des Wasserbeckens. Um den mühsamen Fußmarsch (1 Std. 40 Min.) stromaufwärts zu vermeiden: Wenn man sich auf dem Zugangsweg befindet, sieht man (nach ca. 20 Min.) die Plattform und den Wasserfall auf der linken Seite. Ein kleiner Pfad zweigt nach links ab und führt zur Plattform.

Enter the water from the path. This is followed by a strenuous 1:40-hour hike over boulders with a series of short rappels at AN (max. height: 6 m). Everything is climbable. You then reach a platform with an anchor point in RD (chain). A handrail should be installed. Rappel 16 m. Then pass through a chute, followed by rappels of 9 m and 7 m on AN. You’ll then reach a very beautiful pool. The exit is on the right bank at the end of the pool. To avoid the arduous hike (1 hr 40 min) upstream: Once on the access trail, you’ll see (after about 20 min) the platform and the waterfall on the left. A small path branches off to the left and leads to the platform.

Am Ende des Wasserlaufs nimmt man den Weg, der weiter bergauf führt. Man kommt links an einem Gebäude vorbei. Man geht weiter und gelangt auf die Brücke, die über den Bach „Ruisseau des Vernèdes“ führt. Anschließend folgt man wieder dem Wasserfallweg bergab, auf dem man gekommen ist.

At the exit of the stream, take the path that continues uphill. You’ll pass a building on your left. Continue on until you reach the bridge that crosses the “Ruisseau des Vernèdes” stream. Then follow the waterfall trail back downhill along the same route you took to get there.
