Von Ponta Delgada ganz im Norden der Insel nehmen wir die Rua da Cruz in Richtung SSO. Wir fahren auf der kleinen Straße etwa einen Kilometer und treffen dann im Wald auf eine Verzweigung mit mehreren größeren Wegweisern. Hier parken wir unser Auto.

From Ponta Delgada, in the very north of the island, we take Rua da Cruz towards the SSO. We drive on the small road about one kilometer and then meet in the forest a junction with several larger signposts. Here we park our car.

Nachdem sich der Blick auf das Meer eröffnet hat, steigt man nach einem quer über dem Bachbett liegenden Baumstamm rechts hinauf aus. Wir folgen den Trittspuren aufwärts, bis wir auf den Maultierpfad kommen. Auf ihm rechts zur verfallenen Mühle und der Brücke, wo der Zustieg in den unteren Abschnitt erfolgte, dann weiter hinauf zum geparkten Auto.

After the view of the sea opens up, after a tree trunk lying across the streambed, climb up to the right. Follow the footprints upwards until you reach the mule track. On it, turn right to the dilapidated mill and the bridge where the access was made to the lower part, then continue up to the parked car.
