Wir kommen vom Süden auf der SS33, fahren an Domodossola vorbei und nehmen die Ausfahrt im Norden dieser Stadt. Von hier steuern wir in östlicher Richtung und dann auf der Brücke über den Isorno das orograf. linke Ufer des Flusses an. Hier geht es dann flussaufwärts bis zum Ende der Straße (P2 - Ausstiegsparkplatz). Die letzten 3.5 KM fährt man auf einer holprigen Sandstraße.
Mit dem zweiten Auto wieder zurück, über den Isorno und dann hinauf nach Altoggio. Hier parken wir entweder auf den großen Platz am Ortseingang oder in der Nähe der Kirche.

Coming from the south on the SS33, we drive past Domodossola and take the exit to the north of this town. From here we head east and then cross the bridge over the Isorno to the orographic left bank of the river. Here we continue upstream to the exit of the road (P2 - parking exit). The last 3.5 km are on a bumpy sand road.
Take the second car back across the Isorno and then up to Altoggio. Here we park either in the large square at the entrance to the village or near the church.

Im Ort bis vor die Kirche gehen, noch vor der kurzen Treppe nach rechts unter unterhalb einer Häuserreihe in Richtung der Felder. Hinterm Haus kurz nach links und dann bald wieder nach rechts über die Wiese in die nordöstliche Ecke der bewirtschafteten Felder. Hier finden wir einen Bildstock und gleich dahinter den Beginn eines deutlichen Pfades. Nachdem wir den Bildstock passiert haben, geht es in Serpentinen bergab. Den ersten in einer Serpentine abzweigenden Pfad ignorieren wir, unser Pfad zweigt etwa 130m vor erreichen der Brücke nach links ab (Steinmann). Etwa 10hm in einen kleinen Sattel aufsteigen, dann gerade in das seichte Tal auf der anderen Seite absteigen. Wir erreichen bald ein kleines Haus am Schluchtrand. Hier geht es nun hinunter (gelbe Markierungspunkte) zum Schluchtgrund - Handläufe sind abschnittsweise vorhanden.\n\nMan kann auch vom unteren Parkplatz zum Einstieg aufsteigen. Der Steig ist in der OSM eingetragen soll aber schwer zu finden sein.
In the village, walk in front of the church, before the short staircase turn right underneath a row of houses in the direction of the fields. Behind the house, briefly turn left and then soon right again across the meadow into the northeast corner of the cultivated fields. Here we find a wayside shrine and just behind it the beginning of a clear path. After passing the wayside shrine, we go downhill in switchbacks. We ignore the first path branching off in a serpentine, our path branches off to the left about 130m before reaching the bridge (stone man). Ascend about 10hm into a small saddle, then descend straight into the shallow valley on the other side. We soon reach a small house on the canyon rim. Here we now descend (yellow markers) to the bottom of the gorge - handrails are provided in sections.\n\Man can also ascend from the lower parking lot to the entry. The path is registered in the OSM but should be difficult to find.
