Zunächst wie bei Cugnasco inf.: Von der Landstraße Locarno/Bellinzona in der Ortschaft Cugnasco an der Bachbrücke abbiegen und zunächst linksufrig bachaufwärts hinauffahren Richtung "Medoscio". 200 Meter weiter auf dem Parkplatz links vor der zweiten Brücke kann ein Auto am Schluchtausgang geparkt werden, falls man an den Cugnasco sup. auch den Cugnasco inf. anhängen will (450m üNN). Die Straße windet sich nun in Serpentinen steil den Hang hinauf. Nach der vierten Links-Haarnadelkurve und der folgenden Rechtskurve liegt rechts ein kleiner unbefestigter Parkplatz. Gegenüber befinden sich zwei Schilder: "Via Medoscio" und wenige Meter weiter "Sentee Colett" (hier das untere Auto abstellen, falls man nur den oberen Abschnitt des Cugnasco gehen will (450m üNN). Mit dem anderen Auto weiter auf der Teerstraße aufwärts. Nach einer Linkskurve und längerer Geradeausfahrt folgen sukzessive 5 Rechts- und ebensoviele Linksserpentinen. Auf nicht ganz 700m üNN biegen wir nach einem alleinstehenden Haus rechts ab, passieren nordseitig die Häuser des Weilers Curogna, halten uns dann links und stellen das zweite Auto etwa 400m nach der Abzweigung ab (720m üNN). Die Anfahrt hinauf ist auch mit dem Bus möglich, er verkehrt ungefähr im 2-Std.-Takt, am Morgen in etwas kürzeren Abständen.
First as for Cugnasco inferiore: From the Locarno/Bellinzona road, turn off at the bridge over the stream in the village of Cugnasco and drive upstream on the left towards "Medoscio". 200 meters further on, in the parking lot on the left before the second bridge, you can park a car at the canyon exit if you want to add the Cugnasco superiore to the Cugnasco inferiore (450m above sea level). The road now winds steeply up the slope in hairpin bends. After the fourth left hairpin bend and the following right-hand bend, there is a small unpaved parking lot on the right. There are two signs opposite: "Via Medoscio" and a few meters further on "Sentee Colett" (park the lower car here if you only want to walk the upper part of the Cugnasco (450m above sea level). Continue uphill on the tarred road in the other car. After a left-hand bend and a longer straight section, there are 5 successive hairpin bends to the right and just as many to the left. At not quite 700m above sea level, we turn right after a detached house, pass the houses of the hamlet of Curogna on the north side, then keep left and park the second car about 400m after the turn-off (720m above sea level). The approach is also possible by bus, which runs approximately every 2 hours, with slightly shorter intervals in the morning.

Wir gehen den Feldweg weiter und kommen nach etwa 350m zu den Häusern der Alpe Ronchi. Hier geht es ein paar Schritte hangabwärts, dann sehen wir den Wegweiser "Curogna 705" aquf weißem Grund und einer Wegweisung rechts hinunter nach "Cugnasco 1h". Hier würden wir heraufkommen, wenn wir nur 1 Auto zur Verfügung hätten. Wir gehen hier jedoch horizontal weiter, der Wegweisung "Monti Velloni 1h" folgend. Der Pfad führt in den Wald hinein, aber nach wenigen Metern zieht er links aufwärts, während wir die schwache in etwa horizontal weiterlaufende Wegespur nehmen. Wir passieren ein Steinhaus zur Linken und folgen nun dem Pfad, der manchmal abgerutscht und kaum wahrnehmbar, dann wieder deutlich erkennbar ist. Nach eine Geländekante sehen wir uns hoch über dem Valle di Cugnasco. Wir passieren - etwas exponiert - einen kleinen Felsüberhang, dann geht es weiter abwärts. Dort, wo der Pfad in einer schmalen Felsrinne abrupt endet, klettern wir rechts der Rinne steil abwärts zum Bach (kann auch von Bäumen abgeseilt werden). We continue along the dirt road and after about 350m we come to the houses of Alpe Ronchi. Here we take a few steps downhill, then we see the signpost "Curogna 705" on a white background and a signpost on the right down to "Cugnasco 1h". We would come up here if we only had 1 car available. However, we continue horizontally here, following the signs for "Monti Velloni 1h". The path leads into the forest, but after a few meters it goes uphill to the left, while we take the faint trail that continues more or less horizontally. We pass a stone house on the left and now follow the path, which is sometimes slippery and barely perceptible, then clearly recognizable again. After a ridge, we find ourselves high above the Valle di Cugnasco. We pass - somewhat exposed - a small rock overhang, then continue downhill. Where the path exits abruptly in a narrow rock chute, we climb steeply down to the right of the chute to the stream (can also be rappelled from trees). Tour (2 h 50): ➜
Die Tour beginnt gleich mit dem hächsten und eindrucksvollen 55m-Wasserfall (Haken li.). Nach etwa 16m in rechts des Wasserlaufs (aber praktisch in der Fallinie) ein bequemer Umsteiger, von dem man die restlichen 43m abseilt. Es folgt ein kleiner Sprung (S4). Die folgende Rinne sind wir ein Stück weit hinuntergeklemmt und dann gesprungen. Der nächste Abseiler (15m) führt li. auf ein breites Sims. Wenn man die folgende Rinne vermeiden will, kann man den Abseilpunkt links oben über dem Felsaufbau nehmen (ca. 20m). Der folgende Abseiler vom Block in der engen Rinne (C8) kann bei ordentlich Wasserdurchsatz unangenehm werden. Dann ist man aber auch schon bald beim letzten Abseiler. Hier erreicht man (evtl. mit Umlenkung re. ob.) nach eta 8m den Stand rechts außerhalb des Strahls. Von diesem geht es dann fast trocken die letzten 25m hinunter. Nach etwa 300m Laufstrecke kommen wir dann zum Einstieg in den Cugnasco inf., ggf unser Ausstieg rechts hinaus u. hinauf zu Parkplatz auf 450m üNN. Der Weg beginnt re. von einem großen Felsblock, der unmittelbar am re. Ufer liegt.
The tour begins immediately with the highest and most impressive 55m waterfall (anchor left). After about 16m to the right of the watercourse (but practically in the fall line), there is a comfortable switch, from which you rappel the remaining 43m. This is followed by a small jump (S4). We jammed down the following chute a bit and then jumped. The next rappel (15m) leads left onto a wide ledge. If you want to avoid the following chute, you can take the anchor on the top left above the rock structure (approx. 20m). The following rappel from the block in the narrow chute (C8) can be unpleasant if there is a lot of water. But then you are soon at the last rappel. Here you reach the belay on the right outside the beam after about 8m (possibly with a redirection right above). From here you descend the last 25m almost dry. After about 300m we come to the entry into the Cugnasco inferiore, possibly our exit to the right and up to the parking lot at 450m above sea level. The path starts to the right of a large boulder that lies directly on the right bank.

Entweder wie oben beschrieben rechts hinauf zum Parkplatz auf 450m üNN oder am Ende des unteren Abschnitts rechts von der Geschiebebremse hinaus zur Straße.

Automatisch importiert von Descente-Canyon.com für Canyon Cugnasco (supérieur) Chemin d'approche toujours bien marqué avec cordes toujours en place pour la descente jusqu'au canyon. Equipement ok. Gros débit avec seulement un rappel exposé (rappel guidé bienvenu). Un rocher entier (>200kg) a cependant basculé, sans avertir (complètement stable jusqu'alors) sous nos pieds lors du départ de la troisième cascade, heureusement il a eu la bonne idée de seulement nous "effleurer"... Cugnasco Integrale: Seile beim Zustieg sind nicht mehr vorhanden bzw. lose. Die Haken sind im guten Zustand und insbesondere im Superiore sind einige bei mittleren bis leicht hohen Wasserstand (3.5 Steine siehe Referenz Bild "Eldorado Ticino") aber nur durch Seilgeländer erreichbar.
Cugnasco Integrale: ropes at the approach are no longer present or loose. The hooks are in good condition and especially in the Superiore some are accessible at medium to slightly high water level (3.5 stones see reference picture "Eldorado Ticino") but only by rope railing.
