If you don't want to do shuttle you could walk up by path that winds along the right bank from the classic Resio exit (about 2 hours).
There is a possible intermediate access, unverified, via the footbridge at about 1100 meters above sea level that leads to the intake. This access allows you to avoid some of the approach if you ascend on foot, and the descent of the first section, perhaps the least interesting, but with a beautiful natural flow.
