Von Santa Cruz nehmen wir die Straße ER 1-2 in Richtung Ponta Delgada (nördliche Richtung, küstennah). Gerechnet vom nördlichen Ende der Land-/Startbahn des Airports von Santa Cruz erreichen wir nach etwa 9 km die Brücke über "unseren" Bach, wo das Auto für den Zustieg stehen soll. Zunächst aber fahren wir 1km weiter, wo wir rechts abbiegen auf die Straße hinab zur Ortschaft Ponta Ruiva. Wir durchfahren die Ortschaft und stellen unser 2. Auto auf einen der Parkplätze beim kleinen "Museu". Mit dem anderen geht es wieder hinauf zur Brücke über die Rib. Esguilhâo.

From Santa Cruz we take the road ER 1-2 in the direction of Ponta Delgada (northern direction, near the coast). Calculated from the northern exit of the runway of the airport of Santa Cruz we reach after about 9 km the bridge over "our" creek, where the car for the access should stand. But first we continue for 1km, where we turn right onto the road down to the village of Ponta Ruiva. We drive through the village and put our 2nd car on one of the parking lots near the small "Museu". With the other one we go back up to the bridge over the Rib. Esguilhâo.

Entweder wir steigen direkt bei der Brücke in den Bach oder - besser - wir laufen zunächst am rechten Ufer auf der Wiese, bis der Eintritt in's Bachbett unumgänglich ist.

Either we enter the stream directly at the bridge or - better - we walk first on the right bank on the meadow until the entry into the meadow is unavoidable.

Es erwartet uns eine Abfolge von rund 13 Abseilern, aber Sprung- und Rutsch-Möglichkeiten sind weitgehend Fehlanzeige.

A sequence of about 13 rappels awaits us, but jumps and slides are largely absent.

An der Betonbrücke angelangt, nehmen wir den von Cedros kommenden Maultierpfad, der uns nach Ponta Ruiva und unserem dort abgestellten zweiten Auto bringt.

Once we reach the concrete bridge, we take the mule track coming from Cedros, which takes us to Ponta Ruiva and our second car parked there.
