Die Autobahn A 10 (Genua - Ventimiglia) bei der Ausfahrt Imperia - Ost ("Imperia-Est") verlassen und auf der SS 28 nordwärts fahren Richtung Pieve di Teco (Colle di Nava; Turino). Nach gut 23 km erreichen wir Pieve di Teco und biegen 2 km nach der Ortschaft von der SS 28 links ab auf die Provinzstraße in Richtung Mendatica/Monesi. Nach weiteren 2,5 km (Abzweigung) führt uns die Straße über den Fluss Aroscia (direkt nach der Brücke links guter Parkplatz für Wohnmobil). Nach einem weiteren Kilometer fahren wir in die Ortschaft Ponti di Parnassio hinein. Wenn man aus dem Bereich Genua auf der A 10 anfährt, biegt man bei der Ausfahrt "Albenga" rechts ab auf die SS 582 Richtung Albenga und unmittelbar danach noch einmal rechts ab auf die SS 453. Nach rund 26 km erreichen wir Pieve di Teco. Weiter dann wie oben.\nWir fahren nun durch Ponti di Pornassio durch, kommen über den Rio Santa Lucia und biegen 300m danach links auf eine Piste ab. Sie führt direkt auf eine große Lichtung mit Kastanienbäumen. Wenn man sein Auto schonen will, dann hier abstellen (auch guter Übernachtungsplatz). Der Verf. ist auf der Piste weiter hinaufgefahren. Man passiert nach ungefähr 2 km den Zustieg zum unteren Abschnitt des Rio Santa Lucia und kommt etwa einen guten km weiter zu einer markanten Rechtskehre, in der von links (Südwesten) ein Forstweg einmündet. Hier das (ggf. untere) Auto abstellen. Mit einem zweiten Fahrzeug - oder zu Fuß - auf der bisherigen Piste weiter hinauf, vorbei an einem verfallenden Anwesen, bis wir zu einem Haus rechts des Weges im Weiler Pian Soprano kommen. Hier das zweite Fahrzeug abstellen.

Leave the A 10 highway (Genoa - Ventimiglia) at the Imperia - Ost ("Imperia-Est") exit and head north on the SS 28 towards Pieve di Teco (Colle di Nava; Turino). After a good 23 km we reach Pieve di Teco and 2 km after the village we turn left off the SS 28 onto the provincial road towards Mendatica/Monesi. After a further 2.5 km (junction), the road leads us over the river Aroscia (immediately after the bridge on the left is a good parking area for motorhomes). After another kilometer, we enter the village of Ponti di Parnassio. If you are approaching from the Genoa area on the A 10, turn right at the "Albenga" exit onto the SS 582 towards Albenga and then immediately turn right again onto the SS 453. After around 26 km, you will reach Pieve di Teco. Continue as above.\nWe now drive through Ponti di Pornassio, cross the Rio Santa Lucia and turn left onto a dirt road 300m further on. It leads directly to a large clearing with chestnut trees. If you want to save your car, park here (also a good place to spend the night). The author drove further up the slope. After about 2 km you pass the access to the lower parts of the Rio Santa Lucia and about a good km further on you come to a prominent rightward haipin bend, where a forest road joins from the left (southwest). Park your car here (possibly the lower one). With a second vehicle - or on foot - continue up the previous track, past a dilapidated estate, until you come to a house on the right of the path in the hamlet of Pian Soprano. Park the second vehicle here.

Auch wenn man von unten läuft (in ca. 1,5 Std.), geht es nun bei diesem Haus links über die Wiese (südöstliche Richtung), links vorbei an einem Kastanienbaum (Foto 1). Über eine kleine Böschung hinab kommt man auf eine mit Gras bewachsene Piste, der man nach rechts folgt bis zu den Tafeln am Baum (Foto 2). Hier nicht weiter aufwärts (!), sondern nun weglos links leicht abwärts immer den weiß markierten Bäumen folgend. Nach einiger Zeit kommt man zu einer am Fuß eines Baumes lehnenden Steinplatte mit Pfeil und der Zahl "12". Hier dann direkt hinunter in das Bachbett. Auch ein Zustieg in 1085m ist möglich, siehe aic-Link.

Even if you walk from the bottom (in about 1.5 hours), turn left at this house across the meadows (south-east direction), passing a chestnut tree on the left (photo 1). Over a small embankment you come to a grassy slope, which you follow to the right until you reach the signs on the tree (photo 2). Do not continue uphill here (!), but now turn left slightly downhill without a path, always following the white-marked trees. After a while you come to a stone slab leaning against the foot of a tree with an arrow and the number "12". Here you descend directly into the streambed. Vor der Brücke links hinaus auf den Forstweg, in der Kurve auf die Anfahrtspiste mündet. Alternativ lässt sich auch die Begehung des unteren Abschnitts des Rio Santa Lucia "anhängen". Allerdings ist der von PROCanyon zum 2. Abschnitt markierte Zustieg von der Piste erst einige hundert Meter unterhalb der Brücke und dieses Zwischenstück vom Verf. nicht begangen, da er es vorzog, auf die Piste auszusteigen und dann weiter unten den PROCanyon-Zustieg zu nehmen. Das Zwischenstück wurde aber früher schon begangen, weil ursprünglich der Zustieg zum unteren Abschnitt an der Brücke war, wo die Begehung des oberen Abschnitts endet.

Before the bridge, turn left onto the forest path, which joins the access road at the bends. Alternatively, you can also "append" the ascent of the lower parts of the Rio Santa Lucia. However, the access from the slope marked by PROCanyon to the 2nd part is only a few hundred meters below the bridge and this intermediate part was not climbed by the author, as he preferred to get out onto the slope and then take the PROCanyon access further down. However, the intermediate section had already been climbed earlier because the access to the lower part was originally at the bridge, where the ascent of the upper part exits.
