In Maurach am Südende des Achensees in Richtung Pertisau fahren. 180m nach dem Kreisverkehr li. ab über das Gleis der Schmalspurbahn in die Weissenbachstraße. Wir fahren zum Ortsteil Lärchenwiese und durch diesen Ortsteil durch. Nach 700m (ab Bahngleis) erreichen wir den Waldrand. Linkerhand vor uns liegt eine freie Wiese. Rechts am Waldrand eine Parkfläche, wo wir das Auto abstellen können.

In Maurach at the southern end of Lake Achensee, drive towards Pertisau. 180m after the traffic circle turn left over the track of the narrow-gauge railroad into Weissenbachstraße. We drive to the district of Lärchenwiese and through this district. After 700m (from the railroad track) we reach the edge of the forest. On the left in front of us is an open meadow. On the right at the edge of the forest is a parking area where we can leave the car.

Etwa 100m weiter biegen wir wieder in spitzem Winkel links ab und kommen nach weiteren gut 100 m zur Brücke über dem Damm am Beginn der Schlucht.

Von den Streben unter der Brücke geht es den Damm hinunter in die Schluchtsohle. Nun wechseln sehr kurze Laufstrecken mit Abseilern und Abklettern, bis der Schluchtausgang erreicht ist. An der Geschiebesperre li. hinauf dem Trampelpfad folgend zum Waldweg. Hier rechts zu einer Wiese und einem Spielplatz. Ab hier gibt es zwei Möglichkeiten: 1) Links haltend kommen wir hinauf zum Schluchteinstieg. Von hier auf dem Anmarschweg zurück zum Auto. 2) Rechts der breiten Fahrstraße gut 100 m folgen, dann links bergauf bis zu einer Wiese, diese Richtung Wald und Berg überqueren. Nach rechts zum Auto (gesamt 20 min).

At the debris barrier on the left, follow the trail up to the forest path. Turn right here to a meadow and a playground. From here there are two options: 1) Keeping left, we come up to the entrance to the gorge. From here, take the approach path back to the car. 2) Follow the wide road on the right for a good 100 m, then turn left uphill to a meadow, cross it towards the forest and the mountain. Turn right to the car (20 min in total).
