Von Locarno --> ri Maggiatal --> Bundesstraße bis zur Ortschaft Maggia --> beim kleinen Einkaufszentrum re Straße ri Kirche hochfahren --> li über die Brücke --> nach der S-Kurve bzw. Kirche fährt man der erste Straße (AI Busgian) re --> Sackgasse bis zum Ende folgen --> Parkplatz auf ca. 310Hm (siehe Karte).

!!!Achtung der Einstieg (Start 2) befindet sich auf Privatgrund, die Eigentümer haben keine Freude mit uns!!!! Vom Parkplatz geht es gerade aus über die kl. Wiese am Haus (li) vorbei --> am 1. Wegtafel re an der Steinmauer entlang --> Steineren Weg folgen (zuvor sollte der Wasserstand am 65m Wasserfall überprüft werden. Dazu geht man hinter den Häusern re über den kl. Weg zum Ausstieg) --> nach Kontrolle der Wasserstand die Steinstufen weiter hinauf gehen durch das Eisentor --> am nächsten Wegschild re ri. Giro V. del Salto --> danach kommt ein Weggabelung --> unterhalb vom Haus geht es re weiter (Steinbeschriftung Maggia) --> den Weg leicht abfallend bis Wegtafel 3. --> hier weiter nach li ri. Giro V. Salto --> nach kurzer Zeit kommen 2 Häuser (das re Haus ist zerfallen) (ca. 460Hm) --> hinter dem eingestürzten Haus geht durch hohe Farnen zu einen großen Baum woran sich eine Abseilstelle befindet (2 Seile um Ast mit Ring) --> ca. 450Hm (Alternativer Einstieg zum verkürzten Abstieg. Dauer des Zustiegs bis hierher etwa 30 Min.) Entscheiden wir uns für den Zustieg bei der Wasserfassung gehen wir denWeg bis dorthin weiter (etwa 90 Min. zusätzlich). Wir können zu diesem Ziel aber auch den Weg auf der orograf. li. Talseite nehmen. Dazu gehen wir bei Wegtafel 3 nicht li., sondern re, qieren den Rio Salto auf einer Steinbrücke und nehmen dann bei der Kapelle den Pfad nach links. Auch er führt uns in etwa gleicher Zeit zum Einstieg an der Wasserfassung.

However, we can also take the path on the orographic left side of the valley to this destination. To do this, we do not go left at signpost 3, but right, cross the Rio Salto on a stone bridge and then take the path to the left at the chapel. This also takes us to the entry point at the water catchment in about the same time.

Unterhalb der Wasserfassung auf 745m Höhe die Tour mit einem Sprung in den großen Gumpen beginnen. Daran schließt sich eine lange Strecke an, mit viel laufen Abklettern und schwimmen. Nach etwa 80 Minuten kommen wir zu dem 12m-Rutschen-Highlight, 30 Min. später stehen wir über der langgestreckten Gumpe, in die jene, welche die kurze Variante bevorzugen, hineinseilen. Hier die Beschreibung zum folgenden letzten Abschnitt der Begehung: An der Abseilstelle von Baum angekommen (ca. 450Hm) seilt man sich ca. 45m in die Engstelle der Schlucht ab (Achtung: unbedingt vorher das Seil nass machen) --> bei der Ankunft steht man in Hüfttiefen Wasser --> es folgt eine Schwimmpassage mit einen kleinen Klemmblock im Wasser --> am Ende der Schwimmstrecke folgt einen kleinen Abbruch den man zuerst li11m Abseilen und 7m Springen kann (Stand hoch oben angebracht , Geländerseil möglich) --> nach den Gumpen öffnet sich die Schlucht kurz (mehrere große Felsblöcke) bevor es zur nächsten engen Schwimmpassage geht (hier streckt ein großen Baumwurzel und bildet einen kleinen Siphon) --> diese Stelle kann gut überklettert werden --> weitere kurze Schwimmstrecke bis man fast unterhalb der Steinbrücke steht --> an dieser Stelle gibt es li einen Bohrhaken der das Gehen in der ca. 15m lange Rinne erleichtern kann --> unterhalb des riesigen Klemmblocks kann ca. 4m in tiefen Gumpen gesprungen werden --> kurzes Schwimmstück bis zu den großen Felsblöcken wo sich die Schlucht auch wieder öffnet --> nach den letzten Abkletterpassagen gelangt man li zum Finalwasserfall von 65m --> um sicher an den Stand zu kommen sollte ein abziehbares Geländerseil eingerichtet werden --> der ausgezeichnete Stand befindet sich li auf Kopfhöhe oberhalb der Rinne (in der Mitte des 65m Wasserfalls befindet sich re ein Bohrhaken) --> zum Abziehen in großen Gumpen empfiehlt sich ein 70m Seil (sehr schöner Abseiler), besser noch 30m Seil daran anbinden,um das Abziehen außerhalb des Gumpens vornehmen zu können. --> vor den Finalwasserfall ist li ein Notausstieg möglich. Über die Wasserableitungsrinne oberhalb des Schlusswasserfalls kann man aussteigen. Man kann hier aber auch beim Zustieg ein 70 m- Seil für das Abseilen im Schlusswasserfall deponieren. So kann man die Umsteiger in der Senkrechten vermeiden. Unser Zeitbedafür diesen letzten Abschnitt etwa 200 Min.

You can exit via the water drainage channel above the final waterfall. You can also deposit a 70 m rappel rope in the final waterfall during access. Nach dem großen Gumpen auf ca. 330Hm steigt man re. über Betonstufen aus --> der Wanderweg führt zu den kl. Wein- traubenfeld --> danach steigt man noch kurz re hoch bis man wieder am Parkplatz steht.
