Von Hotel Carnia fährt man auf der SS13 Richtung Tarvisio. Am Ende der Ortschaft Chiusaforte biegt man re Richtung „Sella Nevea“/Raccolana ab. Diese Straße gerade aus folgen, durch die Lawinengalerie durch und weiter gerade aus. Ca. 4Km nach der Lawinengalerie kommt die Ortschaft „Saletto“. Hier biegt man li (über die Brücke) Richtung „Chiout Cali“ ab. Am Ortseingang überquert man „Rio Malimberg“. Gleich nach der Brücke re parken (neben dem Stromhäuschen).

From Hotel Carnia take the SS13 in the direction of Tarvisio. At the exit of Chiusaforte turn right towards "Sella Nevea"/Raccolana. Follow this road straight on, go through the avalanche gallery and continue straight on. About 4 km after the avalanche gallery you will reach the village of "Saletto". Here you turn left (over the bridge) towards "Chiout Cali". At the entrance of the village you cross "Rio Malimberg". Immediately after the bridge park on the right (next to the power house).

Am Stromhäuschen nach der Brücke sieht man schon die Wandermarkierung 641 (Achtung: in der Tabacco Karte ist der Wanderweg schon vor der Brücke eingezeichnet. Das ist aber falsch!) Gleich hinter dem Stromhäuschen folgt man der Zufahrtstraße zum 1. Haus hoch. Der Weg geht zwischen den Häusern durch bis man wieder auf Asphalt stößt. Hier re weiter in Richtung Strommasten, wo erneut eine Wandermarkierung 641 angebracht ist Ab jetzt ist der Weg eindeutig und man folgt diese (641) dann ca. 30min steil durch den Wald, vorbei an der alten Holzbrücke (Rio Malimberg) bis zum Rio Pliz. Beim Einstieg auf 700Hm findet man ein Holzschild mit der Aufschrift "Riu Plis"

At the power house after the bridge, you can already see the hiking trail marker 641 (note: on the Tabacco map, the hiking trail is already marked before the bridge. But this is wrong!) Immediately after the power house, follow the access road up to the first house. The path goes between the houses until you come to asphalt again. Continue right here in the direction of the electricity pylons, where there is another trail marker 641. From now on, the trail is clear and you follow this (641) for about 30 minutes steeply through the forest, past the old wooden bridge (Rio Malimberg) to Rio Pliz. At the entry at 700Hm you will find a wooden sign with the inscription "Riu Plis"

Der Rio Pliz ist eine sehr offene Abseilcanyon mit schöner Ausschicht. Bei den Abseilstellen hat man aufgrund der meist geringen Wasserführung keine großen Schwierigkeiten. Am Einstieg der Rio Pliz inferiore startet man mit einer kleinen Abkletterstelle/Rutsche und steht so gleich vor der höchste Stelle (70m). Der Stand ist OK jedoch auf der li Seite ausgesetzt angebracht. Sollte man nicht über ein 70m Seil verfügen kann der Abseilstelle in 20+50m unterteilt werden . Danach geht es ohne große Wegstrecke bis zum Schluss vertikal weiter. Einige schöne Gumpen sorgen zwischendurch für die willkommene Abkühlung bevor man vor der Steinbrücke/Ausstieg auf ca. 570Hm steht.

The Rio Pliz is a very open rappel canyon with a beautiful layer. There are no major difficulties at the abseiling points due to the mostly low water flow. At the entry of the Rio Pliz inferiore you start with a small downclimb/slide and are immediately in front of the highest point (70m). The stance is OK but exposed on the left side. If you do not have a 70m ropes, the abseiling point can be divided into 20+50m. The route then continues vertically without much distance to the end. Some nice pools provide a welcome cooling in between before you reach the stone bridge/exit at approx. 570m.

An der Steinbrücke auf 570Hm angekommen, steigt man re aus der Schlucht aus. Ab hier folgt man (re) zuerst die Forststraße und dann die asphaltierten Straße bis zum Parkplatz an der Brücke.

Once you reach the stone bridge at 570m, exit the canyon to the right. From here, follow (right) first the forest road and then the asphalt road to the parking lot at the bridge.
