Von Basse-Terre auf der N3 hoch nach St. Claude und weiter auf der Straße hoch zum Vulkan Soufrière. Vorbei am Maison du Volcan und den Bains Jaunes und nach weiteren 1,5 km das Auto am Parkplatz Savane à Mulets aufabstellen. Im Jahr 2013 ist für das Auto auf dem Parkplatz Bains Jaunes Ende (950 m alt.), da die Straße weiter hinauf wegen Felssturz gesperrt ist. Ein Durchfahrtsverbotsschild ziemlich am Beginn der Auffahrt zu diesem Parkplatz wird offenbar allgemein ignoriert.

Zuerst auf der für Kraftfahrzeuge gesperrten Straße die besagten 1,5 km hinauf zum Parkplatz Savane à Mulets auf 1140 m Höhe. Geht man vom Parkplatz auf der Straße zum Krater Citerne einige Meter weiter, so liegt links ein großer markanter Felsblock. Genau gegenüber von der Mitte dieses Felsblocks auf der rechten Straßenseite ca. 7 Schritte vom Asphaltrand ab ins Grüne, dann rechtwinklig nach links abbiegen und in einen schmalen Graben absteigen. In diesem Graben weiter absteigen. Links oberhalb liegt eine betonierte Unterstandshütte. In dem Graben immer weiter absteigen, an allen kritischen Passagen seilversichert, da unten Messstation (2013). Rechts unterhalb erscheint eine Quelle mit grauem Schwefelwasser. Links oberhalb an diesem Schwefelgraben entlang (Geländerseil). Durch dichtestes Grünzeug zum Bach absteigen, den Bach queren und nun am rechten Ufer an einem Fixseil weiter durch die Botanik absteigen. Bei einer rechts oben liegenden Quelle mit ca. 40° warmen, orangefarbenem Wasser in das Bachbett (ca. 15 Minuten von der Straße)

Die Dämpfe aus der senkrechten heißen Felswand sind beeindruckend.Die Sicherung für den 40-m-Wasserfall befindet sich links hinter einer kleinen Felswand nach einem 40 m langem Tobbogan, der ebenfalls abgeseilt werden muss.Der Fels im Gewässerlauf ist griffig.Am Ende der Tour kann man ein Bad in dem 'beheizten' Wasserbecken nehmen am Parkplatz 'Bains Jaunes' (gelbes Bad).

Nach dem 40 m hohen Wasserfall linksufrig auf einem gesicherten Pfad absteigen bis zum großen, von oben schon sichtbaren Gumpen. Hier nach rechts auf dem Weg zurück nach Bains Jaunes. Von dort Autostop hoch zum Parkpatz oder in 30 Minuten zu Fuß.
