Von Castellane am Verdon (dorthin von Nizza auf der N 85 - Route Napoleon - etwa 100 km) auf der auf der N 85 in Richtung Digne (nordwestwärts) fahren wir in vielen Serpentinen hinauf zum Col de Leque, passieren ein Felsentor, wo links unterhalb die für Canyonisten verbotene Clue de Taulanne ihren Anfang nimmt und fahren wieder in vielen Serpentinen hinunter nach la Tuillère (von Castellane bis hierher 16 km). Direkt vor der Ortschaft biegen wir über auf die D 21 links ab und fahren 6 km hinauf nach Blieux. Wir fahren (nordwestwärts) weiter auf der D 21 in Richtung der Häuser von Le Bas Chaudoule. Ziemlich genau 2 km nach Blieux (Ortsmitte) sehen wir linkerhand am Straßenrand einen Wegweiser nach "Portail de Blieux" und "Le Chiran". Hier stellen wir das Auto ab.

From Castellane on the Verdon (there from Nice on the N 85 - Route Napoleon - about 100 km) on the N 85 in the direction of Digne (north-west) we drive up to the Col de Leque in many hairpin bends, pass a rock gate where the Clue de Taulanne, which is forbidden for canyonists, begins on the left below and drive down again in many hairpin bends to la Tuillère (from Castellane to here 16 km). Just before the village, we turn left onto the D 21 and drive 6 km up to Blieux. We continue (northwest) on the D 21 towards the houses of Le Bas Chaudoule. Almost exactly 2 km after Blieux (village center), we see a signpost on the left-hand side of the road for "Portail de Blieux" and "Le Chiran". We park the car here.

Wir folgen dem so gewiesenen Weg in einem Bogen um das Anwesen zur Linken ("propriété privée") und dann kontinuierlich den Berg hinauf. An einem Sattel kann man den Felsdurchbruch schon ganz gut sehen. Weiter den Weg hinauf - ab und zu eine gelbe Markierung - kommen wir zu einem engen Felseinschnitt, nach dem der Pfad dann rechts schwenkt. Nun müssen wir weglos links hinunter zum Bach. Der Verfasser hat ziemlich weit ausgeholt und ist über den Gegenhang relativ weit oben in's Bachbett abgestiegen. In der Rückschau (direkt und in übertragener Bedeutung des Wortes) wäre es vielleicht besser, von der alleinstehenden Felsnadel links unterhalb des Pfades einen direkten Abstieg in den Bach links von dem Graben zu suchen, der jenseits der Felsnadel zum Bach hinunterzieht.

We follow the signposted path in a curve around the estate on the left ("propriété privée") and then steadily up the mountain. At a saddle, you can already see the rock breakthrough quite clearly. Continuing up the path - occasionally marked in yellow - we come to a narrow rock cut, after which the path turns right. Now we have to descend pathlessly to the left down to the stream. The author has gone quite far and descended relatively far up the opposite slope into the streambed. Looking back (directly and figuratively), it would perhaps be better to look for a direct descent from the isolated rock needle on the left below the path into the stream to the left of the ditch that runs down to the stream beyond the rock needle.

Wenn man am Beginn des Abstiegs nicht über den breiten Felsen einrutschen will, ist oberhalb ein Busch für die Seilbefestigung. Es folgen 5 kleinere Abseiler ohne Laufstrecken. Das Wasser trübt durch den eigenen Schritt aufgrund der Schwebstoffe schnell ein.

If you don't want to slide in over the wide rock at the start of the descent, there is a bush above for the rope attachment. This is followed by 5 smaller rappels without running sections. The water quickly becomes cloudy due to the suspended particles in the water.

Nach dem letzten Abseiler noch im Bachbett weiter, bis wir auf den Hauptbach treffen. Über diesen hinweg und dann auf der Straße links zum Auto. Alternativ können wir am Ende des Abstiegs links hinaus und über die ebene Fläche links haltend den Zustiegsweg ansteuern. Auf diesem dann zurück zum Auto.

After the last rappel, continue along the streambed until you reach the main stream. Cross it and then take the road on the left to the car. Alternatively, we can exit to the left at the exit of the descent and head left along the flat area to the access path. Follow this back to the car.
