Located northeast of Varese in Val Ceresio near the Cavallizza stream, this canyon is also excellent as a warm-up at the beginning of the season. Near the first rappel, you can observe some outposts of the old Cadorna line, including the fascinating tower overlooking the waterfall.

Downstream: from Porto Ceresio, follow provincial road 61 (Via Casamora) towards Brusimpiano. After a slight uphill, you cross a small bridge; here you can see the stream exit on the left (45.914007°N 8.897893°E, assess the flow), while the Bellevue Park entrance is on the right. Continue on the provincial road for another 500 meters and park on the right near a sharp left curve (45.91865°N 8.899204°E). Upstream: following Provincial Road 29 towards Alpe Tedesco, near the hamlet of Borgnana, park at the municipal sports field “R. Morini,” in the spaces in front of the tennis court (45.910667°N 8.888551°E).

With shuttle: from the sports field parking, head towards the roundabout; 20 meters before it, take the road on the right that enters the adjacent forest (see photo below). Follow it for 80 meters until you catch sight of the river on your left (45.911403°N 8.889745°E). Without shuttle: from Porto Ceresio, at Via Cantine near the bus stop, starts itinerary 3 of the Cadorna line, “Sentiero della Pace,” also indicated as a variant of trail 3V from Porto Ceresio to Sette Termini. Follow this very scenic route until you reach the forest road mentioned above; you will find the river on your right.

Upon reaching the bridge carrying the provincial road, exit the stream on the left bank and proceed single-file along the road until you reach the car park.
