After bypassing Geneva on the Swiss N 1 after the national border, take the A 40 in the direction of Lyon, Dijon, Paris. After about 25 km (from the border) take exit 11 (Bellegarde Center) in the direction of Fragny, Seyssel. 6 km further on, at the exit of Mons, turn right onto the D 992 and go through Seyssel and Culoz (another 23 km), where you continue on the D 904 (direction Bourg-en-Bresse) for an additional 8.5 km until Artemare (a total of 62 km from the border).\nIn Artemare, we turn half-right at the prominent left turn (Rue de la Poste). About 100 m further on, at the Place de la Liberté, we turn right onto the D 31 (Cote d'Yon). In serpentines it goes up to the hamlet of Don, then the D 31 leads over the Groin ("Gouffre ..."). A little later, from the left (from the SW) comes the D 30. From there it is a little more than 1 km to a right turn with guardrail, where we park our vehicle.

From the guardrail without a path in a westerly direction down to the Séran. The access is about 50 m above the Pont à Favre.

Mainly swim canyon, short but attractive.This is the uppermost Séran canyon; it is followed downstream by the Gorges de Thurignin and the Cerveyrieu waterfall. Good to combine also with the nearby Groin and the dry rope Cerveyrieu fossile.

After leaving the narrows, continue for about 100 m in the river (not too early and steeply up to the right!), then climb pathless and not very steeply in a wide hollow to the western edge of the canyon. Along this to the north, later on a path. This leads us over the Pont à Favre and up to the parking lot on the D 31.
