Auf der 'Autoroute de la Cote Basque' aus Richtung Bayonne kommend biegen wir unmittelbar nach Überqueren der span.-franz. Grenze und des Grenzflusses Bidasoa von der Autobahn ab und steuern auf der N 1 Irun (nicht 'Iruna' - bask. Bezeichnung für Pamplona !) an. Über zwei Rondelle geht es auf der Haupstr.(N 1) westwärts auf die Stadt zu. Beim nächsten Rondell geht es 360 Grad herum und auf der Gegenfahrbahn ca. 100 m zurück, bis die erste Straße in rechtem Winkel rechts abgeht. Wir fahren auf der GI 3631 an dem re. von uns liegenden Bach immer entlang, Richtung Ibarola, Meaka. Es geht stets geradeaus. Wir passieren einen Kinderspielplatz zur rechten Seite und eine Gleitschirmschule ('Escola de Vuelo Bidasoa')auf der linken. Unmittelbar danach macht die Straße einen Bogen nach links. Wir fahren hier geradeaus - li. unten eine Wiese mit Bäumen - und auf der enger werdenden Sträßchen bis zum Parkplatz kurz vor dem E-Werk ('central de Irusta') Hier parken.

On the 'Autoroute de la Cote Basque' coming from Bayonne, we turn off the highway immediately after crossing the Spanish-French border and the border river Bidasoa. Immediately after crossing the Spanish-French border and the border river Bidasoa we turn off the highway and head for Irun (not 'Iruna' - Basque name for Pamplona !) on the N 1. Over two rondels it goes on the main street (N 1) westward toward the city. At the next traffic circle we go 360 degrees around and back on the opposite lane for about 100 m until the first road turns off to the right at a right angle. We continue on GI 3631 along the creek on our right, towards Ibarola, Meaka. We go straight on. We pass a children's playground on the right and a paragliding school ('Escola de Vuelo Bidasoa')on the left. Immediately after that the road makes a bend to the left. We go straight on here - on the left below a meadow with trees - and on the narrowing road until we reach the parking lot just before the electric plant ('central de Irusta') Park here.

Wir lassen das E-Werk re. liegen und steigen an den Ruinen einer Verladestation li. aufwärts vorbei. Nach etwa 5 Min. gehen wir bei einer Verzweigung rechts und steigen auf dem Weg ziemlich geradlinig den Bergrücken hinauf, bis wir auf einen horizontal verlaufenden Querpfad treffen. Auf diesem - Trasse eine stillgelegten Materialbahn - gehen wir rechts. Nach Durchschreiten von 5 Tunnels (dazwischen informative Ausblicke auf die Kaskaden), halten wir uns wieder rechts und treffen nach wenigen Minuten auf den Bach, den wir zum Einstieg begleiten (Vom Parkplatz knapp 60 Min.).

We leave the electric plant on the right and climb up past the ruins of a loading station on the left. After about 5 min. we turn right at a fork and climb on the path rather straight up the ridge until we meet a horizontal cross path. On this path - the route of a disused material railroad - we go to the right. After passing through 5 tunnels (in between informative views of the cascades), we keep right again and after a few minutes we meet the stream, which we follow to the entry (from the parking lot just under 60 min.).

Nach dem 52-m-Abseiler bester Zwischenstand links außerhalb des Wassers. Der 52-m-Abseiler kann bei einen gut sichtbaren Handlauf am li. Rand etwas vor der Hälfte gebrochen werden, ebenso der 47-m-Abseiler; hier Zwischenstand schlecht erkennbar.

Nach dem letzten Abseiler gehen wir orograf. re. etwa 80m hinunter und queren über den Bach zur Ruine. Von hier auf der Piste talauswärts, bis in einer Linkskurve mit Fels rechts ein Pfad hinabgeht zum Bach. Der Pfad führt uns zurück zum E-Werk und dem geparkten Auto
