From the station, follow the marked path past the church to the Annakreuz cross. At the cross, follow the forest road leading west. Where the forest road crosses the small stream, descend into the ditch which you follow until it joins the Angerbach stream.

At the beginning, follow the meandering stream in the swampy bed until the canyon narrows and the first abseiling points follow, after about 5 abseiling points between 5 and 15m height you stand under the bridge of the Mariazellerbahn. After another 5 rappels you are in front of a beautiful 45m rappel. This abseil can be bypassed on the right over steep forest terrain. Below the waterfall there are about 4 more abseils in a quite beautiful low gorge. Caution: the rock is extremely slippery.

At the bottom of the valley, follow the forest road under the high-voltage power line back to the parking lot at the train station. Alternatively, you can park a second car at the junction of the forest road and the country road between Reith and Erlaufboden. In this case, the return journey is shortened to 10 minutes.
