Die A 95 (München - Garmisch-Partenkirchen) bei der Ausfahrt Eschenlohe verlassen, unter der Bahnstrecke hindurch und beim Erreichen des Dorfplatzes im Zentrum von Eschenlohe (T - Kreuzung) rechts. Nach der Linkskurve auf die überdachte Loisachbrücke zu, auf ihr über die Loisach, dann rechts der Mühlstraße folgen (Wegweiser "Sportplatz"). Nach 550 m kommen wir zu einer Verzweigung und nehmen hier die Siemensstraße in südöstlicher Richtung. Nach weiteren 750 m kommen wir zur Sportanlage und stellen hier unser Auto ab (690m üNN).

Leave the A 95 (Munich - Garmisch-Partenkirchen) at the exit Eschenlohe, pass under the railroad line and turn right when you reach the village square in the center of Eschenlohe (T - crossing). After the left turn, head for the covered Loisach bridge, cross the Loisach on it, then follow the Mühlstraße to the right (signpost "Sportplatz"). After 550 m we come to a fork and take Siemensstraße in a southeasterly direction. After another 750 m we come to the sports field and park our car here (690m above sea level).

Wir gehen links am Sportplatz vorbeiund in der Folge nicht hinunter in das Kiesbett der Urlaine, sondern nehemen den Weg, der an der Hangkante aufwärts zieht. Es geht später steil bergauf und wir treffen auf einen Forstweg (780m üNN). Der Forstweg findet seine Fortsetzung in einem Jägersteig ("nur für Geübte"). Auf diesem im Zig-Zag bergauf kommen wir nach weiteren 35 Min. zu einer undeutlichen Verzweigung (1020 m üNN). Hier gehen wir nicht weiter rechts aufwärts den Bergrücken Richtung Zundereck (rote Punkte), sondern gehen geradeaus in den Wald hinein. Der Pfad zieht in südlicher Richtung, stets leicht ansteigend, und wir kommen nach etwa einer halben Stunde (ab Verzweigung) zu einer markanten Felswand , die oberhalb des Steiges emporragt. Genau hier suchen wir die etwas unscheinbare Spur, die links hinunter vom bisherigen Pfad abzweigt. Sie führt zum Archtal-Jagdhaus und bringt uns vorher zum Einstieg in die Urlaine. Wer es im Zustieg kerniger will, der nimmt den alten Klammsteig (teilweise ausgesetzt) hinauf zum Archtal-Jagdhaus und weiter zum Einstieg (siehe Google-Karte unter Weblinks).

We pass the sports field on the left and do not go down into the gravel bed of the Urlaine, but take the path that runs up the edge of the slope. It later climbs steeply and we come to a forest path (780m above sea level). The forest path continues along a hunters path ("for experienced hikers only"). After a further 35 minutes we reach an indistinct fork (1020 m above sea level). Here we do not continue right up the ridge towards Zundereck (red dots), but go straight on into the forest. The path heads south, always slightly uphill, and after about half an hour (from the fork) we come to a striking rock face that towers above the path. Right here we look for the somewhat inconspicuous tracks that branch off to the left downhill from the previous path. It leads to the Archtal hunting lodge and takes us to the entry to the Urlaine. If you want a more rugged access, take the old gorge trail (partly exposed) up to the Archtal hunting lodge and on to the entry point (see Google map under Weblinks).

Eine Mure hat etwa 2012 den Bach ausgeräumt, vor allem auch von dem vielen Totholz, das hier früher anzutreffen war. Andererseits hat sie fast alle Haken geplättet bis auf einige wenige. Wir haben uns mit 80 m Seil und einigen "Notoperationen" an den Ständen beholfen. Der höchste Abseiler ist zwar nur 15 m, aber das Abseilen von Bäumen oder Abseilen über mehrere Stufen fordern eben mehr Seil. Alle Haken mit Setzzeug ersetzen, lässt die Tour tagesfüllend werden und dann das wären keine Klebehaken. Also wenn schon, dann mit Bohrmaschine. Näheres zu unserer Begehung am 13.07.2014 lässt sich meinem umfänglichen Video und meinen Fotos entnehmen. Inzwischen (2020) wieder alles angemessen eingesichert.

A mudslide cleared the stream around 2012, especially of the many deadwoods that used to be found here. On the other hand, it flattened almost all but a few anchors. We made do with 80 m of rope and a few "emergency operations" at the belays. The highest rappel is only 15 m, but rappels from trees or rappels over several steps require more rope. Replacing all anchors with anchors would make the tour take a day and then there would be no glued anchors. So if you have to, then use a drill. More details about our ascent on 13.07.2014 can be found in my extensive video and photos. In the meantime (2020) everything is properly secured again.

Nach der Schlussklamm über Blöcke abklettern, dann oberhalb der Geschiebebremse links hinaus und hinunter zum Auto. Vor der Schlussklamm (etwa auf 840m üNN) kann man li. auf den ehemaligen Klammsteig aussteigen (etwas versteckt).

After the final gorge, downclimb over boulders, then turn left above the slide brake and down to the car. Before the final gorge (at about 840m above sea level) you can exit left onto the former gorge path (somewhat hidden).
