Von Carnia fährt man Richtung Tarvisio --> Re Richtung Resiutta abbiegen --> in die Ortschaft Resiutta fährt man über die Brücke --> direkt nach der Brücke re in das Resiatal abbiegen --> nach ca. 3,5Km kommt li ein Schotterparkplatz, rechts geht eine Sandstraße runter zum Bach --> hier Parken.

From Carnia drive towards Tarvisio --> turn right towards Resiutta --> in the village of Resiutta drive over the bridge --> immediately after the bridge turn right into the Resia valley --> after approx. 3.5 km you will see a gravel parking place on the left, on the right a sand road goes down to the stream --> park here.

Von Parkplatz aus, folgt man der Straße ca. 30 Meter in Fahrtrichtung bis zur Schotterabfahrt re die zum Bach (Torrente Resia) führt. Hier führten einmal zwei Holzbrücken über den Bach, die 2023 aber beide weggerissen waren. Also durchs Bachbett waten. Noch im Bachbett leicht links haltend steuert man die von der weiten schon sichtbare Schlucht an. In Kürze steht man vor der Brücke, die über den Rio Nero führt. Ab hier führt, auf der orographisch li Seite, der Weg 703 (Beschilderung „Ric. Casera Rio Nero“) zum Einstieg. Der Weg steigt zuerst steil an und führt dann mehr oder weniger flach neben der Schlucht. Die letzten Meter zum Bach werden abgestiegen. Man passiert noch einen Zufluss bevor man bei der Holzbrücke/Einstieg der Rio Nero Inferiore steht (Um die Superiore zu erreichen, folgt man den Weg (Hang) hinauf, quert einen Zufluss, dann rein in den Wald. Der Weg steigt zunächst an, dort wo er anfängt abzufallen, haltet man Ausschau nach einem kleinen Pfad der kurz nach Queren einer trockenen Rinne re. zum Bach führt = Einstieg Superiore)(Der Superiore ist bis auf ein paar Einzelzellen weniger interessant.)

From the parking lot, follow the road for about 30 meters in the direction of travel to the gravel descent right to the stream (Torrente Resia). There used to be two wooden bridges over the stream here, but both were torn away in 2023. So wade through the streambed. Keeping slightly to the left in the streambed, head towards the canyon, which is already visible from afar. You will soon reach the bridge that crosses the Rio Nero. From here, on the orographic left, path 703 (signposted "Ric. Casera Rio Nero") leads to the entry point. The path climbs steeply at first and then runs more or less flat alongside the canyon. The last few meters to the stream are descended. You pass another tributary before reaching the wooden bridge/entry to the Rio Nero Inferiore (To reach the Superiore, follow the path (slope) uphill, cross a tributary, then enter the forest. The path initially climbs, where it begins to descend, look out for a small path that leads to the right after crossing a dry chute = entry to the Superiore) (The Superiore is less interesting except for a few individual cells).

ca. 3h Inferiore: Den Rio Nero inferiore ist noch nicht so lange bekannt. Die Schlucht hat für erfahrene Canyonauten/Aquatik-Fans allerdings einiges zu bieten. Von der Holzbrücke kommt man in Kürze zur 1. Abseilstelle/Sprungstelle, wo man sich von dem unterspülten Fels fern halten soll. Hier kann li auch gesprungen werden. Weiters folgen schöne Auswaschungen, kurze Gehabschnitte, Sprünge und Abseilstellen im Wasser. Trotz so manchen Geh- und Abkletterpassagen bleibt die Schlucht bis zum Schluss unterhaltsam. Die Strömungen in den Gumpen und die kurzen Abseilpassagen, die zum Teil direkt im Wasserlauf sind, sollten aber nicht unterschätzt werden! Superiore (1,5h): Die Schlucht beginnt eindrucksvoll und extrem kalt mit einem schönen eingeschnittenen Teil bestehend aus einen kleineren Sprung und einem aquatischen 16m Abseiler (evtl. Notausstieg re möglich). Es folgen eine unterhaltsame 16m Abseilstelle und ein 5m Sprung. Danach wird es weniger interessant. Geh, Abkletter und Sprungstellen folgen bis zur Brücke (Einstieg inferiore).

approx. 3h Inferiore: The Rio Nero inferiore has not been known for so long. However, the canyon has a lot to offer for experienced canyoneers/aquatic fans. From the wooden bridge, you will soon reach the 1st abseiling/jumping point, where you should stay away from the undercut rock. You can also jump here. This is followed by beautiful washouts, short walking sections, jumps and abseiling points in the water. Despite some walking and downclimbs, the canyon remains entertaining right to the end. However, the currents in the pools and the short rappels, some of which are directly in the water, should not be underestimated! Superiore (1.5h): The canyon begins impressively and extremely cold with a beautiful incised section consisting of a smaller jump and an aquatic 16m rappel (emergency exit right). This is followed by an entertaining 16m abseil and a 5m jump. After that it becomes less interesting. Walk, downclimbs and jumps follow until the bridge (entry inferior).

Auf ca. 400Hm, steigt man aus dem flachen Bachbett auf den Weg li aus. In Kürze erreicht man die beschilderte Abzweigung. Über die schon beim Zustieg begangene Forststraße zurück zur Furt über die Resia und weiter zum Parkplatz.

At an altitude of approx. 400 m, you leave the flat streambed and take the path left. You will soon reach the signposted junction. Follow the forest road already used for access back to the ford over the Resia and on to the parking lot.
