Vor allem im unteren Teil kann die Schlucht bei hohem Wasserstand gefährlich werden, da sehr eng und wenig Fluchtmöglichkeiten vorhanden sind. Zusammenfassend: sehr empfehlenswert.

Von Belluno in Richtung Norden auf der SS51 bis Longarone; hier rechts die SS51 verlassen in Richtung Pordenone/Erto; Über die Brücke und dann die Straße SR251 den Berg hoch; Man fährt durch Erto durch – über die Zemola (Möglichkeit die beiden Canyons zu kombinieren) – und folgt der SR251 vorbei an Cimolais; 4km nach Cimolais kommt die Abzweigung in Richtung Claut – man verlässt die SR251; Nach ca. 3km kommt man zur Ortseinfahrt „Claut“, hier biegt man vor der Ortstafel links ab in Richtung Val Settimana bzw. Campingplatz „Tree Village“. Nach ca 100m kommt man zu einem Automaten wo man ein Ticket für das Tal lösen muss (Achtung es wird kontrolliert und gestraft). Von dem Automaten fährt man 10km der Straße entlang, die teilweise zur Schotterpiste wird; bis zur Brücke mit der Beschriftung „Pont del Ciarter“. Hier befindet sich vor der Brücke rechts der Parkplatz an dem man das Fahrzeug stehen lassen kann. Von Claut in das Val Settimana, bis zur Brücke Ponte del Chiarter 867m.\nTeilweise Asphalt / Schotterstraße.

From Belluno head north on the SS51 to Longarone; leave the SS51 here on the right in the direction of Pordenone/Erto; cross the bridge and then take the SR251 road up the mountain; drive through Erto - over the Zemola (possibility to combine the two canyons) - and follow the SR251 past Cimolais; 4km after Cimolais there is a junction in the direction of Claut - leave the SR251; after approx. After approx. 3km you come to the entrance to the village of "Claut", here you turn left before the village sign in the direction of Val Settimana or the "Tree Village" campsite. After approx. 100m you come to a ticket machine where you have to buy a ticket for the valley (please note that there are checks and fines). From the ticket machine, drive 10km along the road, which becomes a gravel track in places, until you reach the bridge marked "Pont del Ciarter". There is a parking lot on the right before the bridge where you can leave your car. From Claut into the Val Settimana, up to the bridge Ponte del Chiarter 867m.\nPartly asphalt / gravel road.

Vom Parkplatz die Brücke überqueren und gleich nach der Brücke links den Wanderweg 370 folgen. Der Wanderweg führt zuerst steiler den Hang hoch wird weiter oben hin flacher und verläuft parallel zum Canyon. Ohne Abzweigungsmöglichkeiten folgt man dem Weg bis man nach ca 45min – 1h auf 1300Hm links direkt in die Schlucht einsteigen kann.

From the parking lot, cross the bridge and immediately after the bridge follow hiking trail 370 to the left. The hiking trail first climbs steeply up the slope, becomes flatter further up and runs parallel to the canyon. Follow the path without any forks until you can enter the canyon directly on the left after approx. 45 minutes - 1 hour at 1300m.

Beim Einstieg auf 1300 Hm angekommen erwartet einen zuerst eine relativ lange und unspektakuläre Geh- und Abkletterpassage, die hin und wieder durch kleine Abseilstellen unterbrochen wird. Danach kommt man nach einer kleinen Rutsche zum höchsten Abseiler der Tour mit ca 45m. Achtung dieser befindet sich direkt im Wasser und ist bei erhöhtem Wasserstand mit Vorsicht zu genießen. Außerdem gestaltet sich der Seilabzug schwierig – auf saubere Seilführung ist zu achten. Bis zum 45m-Abseiler ist die Tour äußerst unspektakulär, doch danach ist sie sensationell. Der Canyon wird zusehends eingeschnittener mit einigen Abseilpassagen die aufeinander folgen. Sollte der Wasserstand oben schon in irgendeiner Art und Weise Probleme machen sollte man die Tour vor dem 45m Abseiler abbrechen. Nach diesem folgt ein weiterer Abseiler mit 18m und Gehgelände in der eng eingeschnitten Schlucht, ehe man die Möglichkeit hat li über einen Notausstieg hoch zu kommen. Danach folgt der wirklich sensationell tief eingeschnittene und finstere Teil der Schlucht mit einigen Abseilstellen. Dieser Teil entschädigt total die ersten paar hundert Meter Geh- und Abkletterpassagen. Bis zum Ausstieg folgen einige nicht so hohe Abseiler (max 10m) in der tief eingeschnitten Schlucht. Achtung diese befinden sich teilweise direkt in der Wasserführung, Dieser Teil lässt das Herz jedes Canyonauten höher schlagen Nach dem engen Teil der Schlucht befinden sich noch 3 Abseilstellen, ehe man direkt beim Parkplatz, nach der Bachüberquerung steht. Obwohl die Tour oben nicht viel erwarten lässt, steigert sie ihre Attraktivität kontinuierlich und ist sehr empfehlenswert. Der Zeitpunkt der Begehung ist relativ egal, da man unten sowieso wenig Sonnenlicht zu Gesicht kommt – genau wie es sein soll.

The rope retrival is also difficult - make sure that the rope is properly guided. Up to the 45m rappel, the tour is extremely unspectacular, but after that it is sensational. The canyon becomes increasingly incised with several successive rappels. If the water level at the top is already causing problems in any way, you should abort the tour before the 45m rappel. This is followed by another 18m rappel and walking terrain in the narrow canyon before you have the opportunity to get up left via an emergency exit. This is followed by the really sensationally deep and dark part of the canyon with several abseils. This part totally makes up for the first few hundred meters of walking and downclimbs. Until the exit, there are a few rappels (max. 10m) in the deep canyon. Beware, some of these are directly in the water flow, this part makes the heart of every canyoneer beat faster After the narrow part of the canyon, there are 3 more abseils before you reach the parking lot after crossing the stream. Although there is not much to expect at the top, the tour continuously increases in attractiveness and is highly recommended. The time of the ascent is relatively unimportant, as there is little sunlight at the bottom anyway - just as it should be.

Nach der Tour überquert man den Bach und geht ca 5min flussaufwärts, ehe man beim Parkplatz steht.

After the tour, cross the stream and walk upstream for about 5 minutes before you reach the parking lot.
