Von Genf auf der Autobahn A 40 etwa 65 km in Richtung Lyon. Nach 3 kürzeren Tunneln passiert man die Kleinstadt Nantua (rechts unterhalb eines hohen Viadukts) und durchfährt anschließend ein etwa 3 km langes Tunnel. Die nächste Autobahnausfahrt nehmen wir und kommen nach St. Martin du Frere. Von hier geht es in südlicher Richtung auf der D 12 (Route de Condamine). Nach 13 km biegen wir dann links ab auf die D8 und erreichen nach weiteren 11 km die Ortschaft Hauteville-Lompnes.
Von hier nehmen wir die D 9 in Richtung Col de la Rochette, Ruffieu. Nach etwa 2 km bergauf kommen wir zu einer Straßenbrücke, in der Nähe ein Steinkreuz. Hier stellen wir das Auto ab.
From Geneva, take the A40 highway for about 65 km in the direction of Lyon. After 3 short tunnels, you pass the small town of Nantua (on the right below a high viaduct) and then drive through a tunnel about 3 km long. We take the next highway exit and come to St. Martin du Frere. From here we head south on the D 12 (Route de Condamine). After 13 km we turn left onto the D8 and after another 11 km we reach the village of Hauteville-Lompnes.
From here, take the D9 in the direction of Col de la Rochette, Ruffieu. After about 2 km uphill, we come to a road bridge with a stone cross nearby. We park the car here.
