Von Ierapetra westwärts am Meer entlang (selten zu sehen) nach Myrtos (14 km). An der Ortschaft vorbei wendet sich die Straße (Nr. 97) Richtung Ano Viannos ins Landesinnere und zieht bergan. Nach 16 km biegen wir bei Kefalovrisi halblinks ab und fahren nach Amiras. Von dort fahren wir mit zwei Fahrzeugen hinunter zur Ortschaft Arvi am Meer (Sollten wir nur 1 Auto haben, zweigt man etwa 4,3 km nach Amiras - links große Bäume vor der Piste, dahinter freie Fläche, 2008 - auf die Piste links ab und lässt hier das Auto stehen). Unten in Arvi angekommen, stellen wir ein Auto am besten gleich am Ostende des Hafens ab (von Ausstieg bis dahin rund 700 m). Mit dem anderen fahren wir wieder 6,7 km zurück und hinauf. Wo auf der rechten Seite nach einer baumfreien Fläche (östlich der Straße und nördlich der Piste) einige größere Bäume stehen, nehmen wir die hier ostwärts abgehende Piste. Nach etwa 100 m nehmen wir bei der Verzweigung die nordwärts führende Piste (also links), bei der nächsten Verzweigung 200 m weiter die rechts (ostwärts) abgehende Piste. Auf dieser immer am Hang auf gleicher Höhe entlang kommen wir dann nach weiteren 600 m zu der Stelle vor einer kräftigen Linkskurve, wo wir das Fahrzeug abstellen.

From Ierapetra westwards along the sea (rarely seen) to Myrtos (14 km). Past the village, the road (no. 97) turns inland towards Ano Viannos and climbs uphill. After 16 km we turn left at Kefalovrisi and drive to Amiras. From there we drive with two cars down to the village of Arvi by the sea (if we only have 1 car, we turn off onto the road on the left about 4.3 km after Amiras - large trees on the left before the road, open space behind it, 2008 - and leave the car here). When we arrive in Arvi, it is best to park one car at the eastern end of the harbor (about 700 m from the exit). With the other one we drive back and up again for 6.7 km. Where there are some larger trees on the right-hand side after a treeless area (east of the road and north of the track), we take the track that goes eastwards here. After about 100 m, at the junction, take the northbound track (i.e. left), at the next junction 200 m further on, take the track to the right (eastbound). Continue along the slope at the same height for another 600 m until you reach the place before a sharp left-hand bend, where you park the vehicle.

Vom Fahrzeug führt in spitzem Winkel zu dem Weg, auf dem wir gekommen sind, eine schlechte Piste zuerst südwestwärts bergab. Dann macht sie einen Bogen nach Osten und wir sind im Tal. Wir folgen der Piste solange an der rechten Talseite weiter, bis sich ein geeigneter Zustieg nach links in den Bach anbietet.

From the vehicle, a bad track leads downhill at an acute angle to the path on which we came, initially heading southwest. Then it bends to the east and we are in the valley. We follow the track along the right-hand side of the valley until a suitable access to the left into the stream presents itself.

Insgesamt 15 Abseiler. Falls die ersten Abseiler mit Rohren weitgehend blockiert sind, kann man sie am Fels links oberhalb umgehen. Beim 82m-Abseiler bieten sich mehrere Möglichkeiten mit diversen Umsteigern, insbes. wird eine, auch bei Wasserdurchsatz "trockene" Variante von der Via Ferrata angeboten. Der 82m-Abseiler kann an der Kante rechts oben außerhalb des Wasserfalls abgeseilt werden. Es gibt einen Zwischenstand nach 32m, danach 50m. Bei hohem Wasserdurchsatz gibt es hier einen Siphon. Falls dies zu befürchten ist, kann die Stelle über die Via Verrata umgangen werden. Wird diese Variante gewählt ändert sich die Vertikalitätsbeurteilung allerdings auf VI. Der Stand ist über die Via Ferrata sehr ausgesetzt, aber sicher zu erreichen. (Von dort wohl auch Notausstieg möglich 2022 erkundet, aber nicht verifziert. Der Anfang ist schon recht ausgesetztes Klettern im dritten Grad). Seilt man am Ende der Via Ferrata von dem Kettenstand ab, gehts es ca. 30 Meter abwärts und 10 Meter zur Seite flussabwärts. Dort befindet sich der nächste Stand (dem Felsband folgen 2 Umlenker unterwegs unbedingt einhängen). Der Zwischenstand befindet sich am Ende eines sehr schmalen Bandes und bietet Platz für maximal zwei Personen (kein Sichtkontakt zum Ersten Stand). Von hier ca. 65m Abseilen. Siehe dazu aber eine extreme Situation im Video: https://youtu.be/138eS5x-tEo (der erste Canyonist rechts auf der üblichen Abseilroute, die Anderen dann links von der Via Ferrata, allerdings nicht vom Ende, sondern von der Mitte...). Stirnlampe nicht zwingend notwendig solange die Tour "am Tag" unternommen wird. Der eingeschlossene Bereich nach der C82 liegt im Dämmerlicht. Direkt nach dem c82 kommt ein c25, mc3, R12 oder c8, r3 danach ist man wieder im Tageslicht und fast am Ende der Schlucht. Es folgen noch C5, C6 unter Klemmblock, c4.

A total of 15 rappels. If the first rappels are largely blocked with pipes, you can bypass them on the rock to the left above. There are several options for the 82m rappel with various transfers, in particular a "dry" variant of the Via Ferrata is offered, even with water flow. The 82m rappel can be abseiled on the edge at the top right outside the waterfall. There is an intermediate stand after 32m, then 50m. There is a siphon here if the water flow is high. If you rappel from the chain anchor at the exit of the via ferrata, it goes down about 30 meters and 10 meters to the side downstream. There you will find the next belay (follow the rock ledge and make sure you clip in on the way). The intermediate belay is located at the exit of a very narrow ledge and offers space for a maximum of two people (no visual contact with the first belay). From here, rappel approx. 65m. Headlamp not absolutely necessary as long as the tour is undertaken "during the day". The enclosed area after the C82 is in twilight. Directly after the c82 comes a c25, mc3, R12 or c8, r3 after which you are back in daylight and almost at the exit of the canyon. This is followed by C5, C6 under clamping block, c4.

Am Schluchtende hinaus auf den Feldweg und auf ihm ca. 250 m geradeaus am Bach entlang. Bei Erreichen der Straßenbrücke rechts, bei der nächsten (50 m weiter) T-Kreuzung wieder links und dann geradeaus bis zum Hafen.

At the canyon exit, take the dirt road and continue straight ahead along the stream for approx. 250 m. When you reach the road bridge, turn right, then left again at the next T-junction (50 m further on) and then straight on to the harbor.
