Von Imst auf der B 189 gut 2 km (ab Ortsende Imst) bis zur Ortsmitte von Tarrenz. Hier links ab - Schulgasse - in Richtung Obtarrenz. 450 m weiter, vor der Brücke über den Salvesenbach wieder links ab und weitere 450 m bis zum Skilift. Hier Auto abstellen.

Wir gehen zunächst einige Meter bachauf, dann wechseln wir über den Steg an das andere Ufer. Dann geht es aufwärts dem Wegweiser "Salvesenklamm", "Obtarrenz" folgend. Bei einer Wegverzweigung - links hinunter geht's zu Brücke über die Klamm - halten wir geradeaus weiter hinauf in nördlicher Richtung und treffen schließlich etwa in Höhe 1060 m üNN auf die von Obtarrenz heraufziehende Forststraße. Auf dieser nun links queren wir nach einiger Zeit das Vordere Bachl und kommen wenig später zum Hinteren Bachl (Einstieg).

We first go up the stream for a few meters, then we cross over the footbridge to the other bank. Then we go uphill following the signpost "Salvesenklamm", "Obtarrenz". At a fork in the road - down to the left is the bridge over the gorge - we continue straight up in a northerly direction and finally meet the forest road coming up from Obtarrenz at about 1060 m above sea level. On this now left we cross after some time the Vordere Bachl and come a little later to the Hintere Bachl (entry).

Im Hinteren Bachl folgt ein Abseiler dem anderen bis hinunter in den Salvesenbach. Nun wechseln Laufstrecken mit Kletter- und Abseil-Passagen. Markant ist dann die enge Passage unter dem "Hohen Übergang". Dann hat man die Treibholzsperre und damit das Ende der Klamm erreicht.

Eine Schlucht für den Blick in die Natur und die Landschaft. Leider nerven die Zwiebacksägen auf der Jochstraße während des Aufstiegs. Spektakuläre sieht das Stück unter dem Hohen Überhang aus. Es entpuppt sich dann aber als recht angenehm da man im Becken gut stehen kann. Unterwegs gibt es einiges an Holz welches teilweise skurrile Formen angenommen hat. Es gibt fast immer gute Doppelhaken mit Kette.

A canyon for views of nature and the scenic landscape. Unfortunately, the ripsaws on the Jochstraße are annoying during the ascent. The section below the high overhang looks spectacular. However, it turns out to be quite pleasant as you can stand well in the basin. There is a lot of wood along the way, some of which has taken on bizarre shapes. There are almost always good double pitons with chains.
