Vom Gschwand gehen wir die schmale Straße Richtung NW und folgen dabei der Wegweisung "Krüner Alm". Nach etwa 800 m halten wir uns bei der Verzweigung rechts und folgen der Forststraße über dem Finzbach etwa 50 Min. Wir kommen zu einer Haarnadelkurve mit Holzbank, Wegweisern und Info-Tafel. Hier verlassen wir die Forststraße und nehmen an dieser Verzweigung die schmale Piste, die halbrechts abgeht (AV-Wanderweg 453, Wegweisung "Krottenkopf"). \nDieser Weg wendet sich vom Finzbach in nördlicher Richtung ab und führt in der Folge hoch über dem Altgraben aufwärts. Nach der 5. Holzbrücke und etwa 60 Min. ab Holzbank/Info-Tafel suchen wir uns ein geeignetes Gelände für den Abstieg in den Altgraben (Fußspur vorhanden).
