Wir verlassen die SS 33 (Gravellona - Domodossola), die das Ossola - Tal hinaufzieht, über die Ausfahrt Villadossola, fahren über den Fluss Toce zunächst in östlicher Richtung, kommen nach 2,8 km in den Ort Beura, biegen hier links ab und erreichen nach weiteren 1,5 km die Ortschaft Quarata. Hier nehemen wir die Via Quarata nach rechts und stellen das Auto in der Nähe des Baches ab.

Zu Beginn gilt es erst einmal, ein Steinchaos zu überwinden. Dann folgen 2 Abseiler bis zur Mündung des linken Seitenbaches Focia. Jetzt beginnt ein ständiger Wechsel von Abseilern, Sprüngen, Rutschen und natürlich Abklettern. Technisch anspruchsvoll ist dann ein Handlauf am steilen Fels, um bei der C 25 einen Abgang im Strahl zu vermeiden. Nach einigen engen Passagen seilt man schließlich in den Badegumpen der Ortschaft Quarata hinein.

DC. Super canyon qui mérite vraiment d'être fait. GPS nécessaire pour l'approche car il y a de très nombreux sentiers à la montée. Le RIC a du rééquiper partiellement le canyon car ajd il n'y a aucun point qui pose problème. Super toboggan de 25m qui n'engage pas vraiment (celui après l'etroiture). 6h de voiture à voiture à 3.

Great, somewhat technical canyon, reminding of Soladino in Ticino. Quite a few anchors had to be reviewed. Next team could bring a piece or two of old rope, we only had dyneema with us apart from the hardware. The start is a bit dull with large boulders, but the reward is huge. Water levels are optimal for the raduno & RIC.

Parked right below and approach in 1h15, the passage starting from Mura ruins is not always evident at the beginning.
Medium/low water level but not to be underestimated on some passages.
Anchor points various, quite everywhere double and just missing on some minor pitches that require attention cause very slippery, in particular in the final part where the rock turns greenish starting from water capture. Pay attention to rope recovery cause in a pair of pitches it can get easily stuck.
Unluckily second pool still with the dead animal on one side, but with the flow water is cristal clear everywhere else.
Wonderful canyon and really waiting to do the overall Menta.

Marche d approche facile avec un GPS. En arrivant à Mura ne pas descendre des le point de vue mais traverser les quelques ruines.Carcasse de cerf en décomposition dans la c17. Beaucoup de ressauts se desescaladent en opposition avec ce niveau d eau. Attention au ressaut avec l enorme tronc de châtaignier coincé dans la faille : pas d équipement, ça passe en opposition avec ce niveau.
