Von Annecy auf der N 508 am Südwestufer des Lac d'Annecy entlang. Nach 19 km kommt von links (Nordosten) die Ostuferstraße auf der Höhe der etwas südlich der N 508 gelegenen Ortschaft Doussard. 3,5 km nach dieser Einmündung der Ostuferstraße biegen wir links ab auf die D 42 in Richtung Montmin, Col de la Forclaz. Wir durchfahren die Ortschaft Vessone, queren am Ortsausgang den Montmin
und fahren in Kehren aufwärts auf der D 42. Bei der 1. Linksserpentine stellen wir unser Fahrzeug auf dem Parkplatz rechts der Straße ab (Sanitäreinrichtung).
From Annecy on the N 508 along the southwest shore of Lac d'Annecy. After 19 km, the east bank road comes from the left (northeast) at the level of the village of Doussard, located slightly south of the N 508. 3.5 km after this junction of the east bank road, we turn left onto the D 42 in the direction of Montmin, Col de la Forclaz. We pass through the village of Vessone, at the end of the village we cross the Montmin
and drive in hairpin bends upwards on the D 42. At the 1st left-hand hairpin bend we park our vehicle in the parking lot on the right-hand side of the road (sanitary facilities).

Wir gehen nun die Straße etwa 15 Min. zu Fuß weiter bis zu einem Bildstock, der mit Eisenstäben eingezäunt ist. Beim Bildstock früherer Parkplatz, jetzt aber Parkverbot; nach Aussage der Polizei auch neben der Fahrbahn. Hier einen teilweise seilversicherten Steig hinunter zum Bach.
Etwa 400m vor Erreichen des Bildstocks sehen wir rechts der Leitplanke einen deutlichen Trampelpfad abgehen. Er wird vorwiegend von kommerziellen Anbietern genutzt und verkürzt die Tour um etwa zwei Drittel (siehe wikiloc-Track).
We now walk along the road for about 15 min. until we reach a wayside shrine, which is fenced with iron bars. At the wayside shrine former parking lot, but now no parking; according to the police also next to the roadway. Here a partially rope-secured path down to the stream.
About 400m before reaching the wayside shrine, we see a clear trail off to the right of the guardrail. It is mainly used by commercial operators and shortens the tour by about two thirds (see wikiloc track).
