Von Chiusaforte fährt man in das Raccolanatal. Ca. 1,2Km nach der Brücke über den Raccolanabach kommt auf der rechten Seite ein großer Schotterparkplatz und links ein Kraftwerksgelände. Entweder hier oder besser noch etwas weiter oben direkt 2m neben dem Rivis Ausstieg parken (Platz für 2PKW mit Bodenfreiheit + ca. 50m weiter der Straße entlang evtl. vor der Brücke re. vor dem Schranken nochmals Platz für 2PKW .

From Chiusaforte, drive into the Raccolana Valley. Approx. 1.2 km after the bridge over the Raccolana stream, there is a large gravel parking place on the right and a power station site on the left. Either park here or better a little further up directly 2m next to the Rivis exit (space for 2 cars with ground clearance + approx. 50m further along the road possibly before the bridge on the right before the barrier again space for 2 cars.

Vom kleinen Parkplatz direkt neben dem Rivis Bach (mit dem kleinen Betonhäuschen im Wasser) kann die Wassermenge beurteilt werden. Weiters folgt man den sehr steilen und nicht immer gut ersichtlichen Weg (Pfad) auf der orographisch linken Seite, durch den Wald. Nach ca. 20min und einigen Hm quert man kurz nach li. über ein kleines Rinserl und man steht schon direkt im Rivisbach. Einstieg auf 600m. Möchte man den oberen Teil mitmachen (ist jedoch nicht Interessant) geht man weiter hoch. Bei einer kleinen Wildfütterung links ins Tal des Rio Rivis queren (ausgesetzt). Man erreicht den Talboden durch 2xAbseilen (1 Abseilstelle ist ein enger Spalt) - Siehe Links + Video

From the small parking lot right next to the Rivis stream (with the small concrete house in the water) you can judge the amount of water. Continue along the very steep and not always clearly visible path (trail) on the orographic left side, through the forest. After about 20 minutes and a few meters of ascent, you cross over a small rinse to the left and you are already standing directly in the Rivisbach. Entry at 600m. If you want to do the upper part (but it is not interesting), continue up. At a small game feeding station, cross left into the valley of the Rio Rivis (exposed). You reach the bottom of the valley by abseiling twice (1 abseiling point is a narrow gap) - see links + video

Der Rivis ist eine kurze lohnenswerte offene, nicht all zu schwierige Kalkschlucht die in 2024 neu mit Klebehaken eingerichtet wurde. Alternativ zu den Standplätzen können einige Stufen außerhalb der Wasserführung von Baumschlingen abgeseilt werden. Die Schlucht ist eine gute Alternative wenn andere Schluchten zu viel Wasser führen oder einfach als Halbtagestour. Gleich zu Anfang kommt eine Engstelle mit einem Klemmblock unter dem man sich abseilt. Danach folgen mehrere Abseilstellen kurz aufeinander. An der höchsten Abseilstelle (ca. 40m) befindet sich li. und re. ein Standplatz wobei re. nach 15m noch ein Zwischenstand genützt werden kann. Weiters folgen noch 2 zwingende Abseilstellen mit 25m und 15m bevor man über die letzten Felsstufen re. absteigt.( Alternativ: über Haken kurze Stufen abseilen). Im flachen Bachbett erreicht man in kürze das Betonhäuschen und die Brücke mit dem Parkplatz (ca.440m).

The Rivis is a short, rewarding, open, not too difficult lime canyon that was newly equipped with glued anchors in 2024. As an alternative to the belays, some steps outside the water flow can be rappelled from tree slings. The canyon is a good alternative if other canyons have too much water or simply as a half-day tour. Right at the beginning there is a narrow section with a clamping block under which you rappel. This is followed by several abseils in quick succession. At the highest abseil point (approx. 40m) there is a belay on the left and right, whereby an intermediate belay can be used after 15m on the right. There are also 2 more rappels of 25m and 15m before descending over the last rock steps on the right (alternatively: rappel down short steps via anchors). In the shallow streambed you will soon reach the concrete house and the bridge with the parking lot (approx. 440m).

Gleich li vor der Brücke aussteigen. Je nach Parkmöglichkeit zurück zum Parkplatz.

Get off just left of the bridge. Depending on parking possibilities, return to the parking lot.
