From Bovec head towards Trenta (Vršič Pass). After 12 km, follow the Velika Korita Soče sign and park your car in the parking lot

From the car, follow the Soča trail along the river on the left near the gorge. A possible entry is from the middle, where after 50 meters you will see a wooden staircase on the left, find the spot, put the rope around the tree or the rocks “before the dangerous part in the gorge” and abseil down into the gorge with a 1x50 meter long rope. Further upstream is possible, but on our visit we went from the middle based on the knowledge of others

If you abseil in the middle, you can expect nice swims in very cold water. It is recommended to take a diving mask to observe large numbers of Soča trout in 6-8 m deep water. At low water levels of 2-3 m3/s on the Kršovec gauge, it is easy to bypass the siphons.

As you emerge from the gorge, expect to see lots of photos from the tourists watching the gorge. Leave the river on the left and go back to the car.

Waterlevel should be under 3 m3/s at the mesaurment device Kršovec. Data you can find on national report for rivers. You can also check everything by walking above the gorge and see and make a plan if its possible and how to avoide the siphons etc.
