Sintesi:
Long and nice descent, not always continuous, with beatiful view over the lake once reaching the lower park. Upper part (585m - 410m, 2h30) often has low water, quite never getting dry also in summer but better to check and in case suitable after rains. Lower part (410m - 210m, 2h30) with double water cause inheriting from a tributary, creating a scenic double waterfall view under first pitch.

Accesso:
When reaching Zù and the corresponding restaurant, you can park on the few places available right at the exit, or on the road turn just before coming from Tavernola/Portirone.
Avvicinamento (30 min):
An hiking path barely marked, close to the rock protection grid, start from the lower parking and brings up to Fonteno, otherwise a path starts from nearby village Riva di Solto. By car along the road for the lower part access there is barely no space to park, thus the best option is to drive to Fonteno to the parking "Piazza della pace" and the neaby sport center; from there you can continue on foot up to reach the upper part or go down to reach the lower part.

Torrente semplice e piacevole con alcune calate un po’ magiche ed “elfiche” caratterizzate da muschio e travertino. Torrente a tratti scivoloso. Acqua freddina. Abbiamo fatto navetta. Parte alta : Quasi secca, con pochissima acqua. Nel tragitto abbiamo trovato nelle pozze molte carcasse di animali. Tra le calate ci sono pezzi in cui si cammina. Parte bassa: Con flusso basso d’acqua. Non erano presenti carcasse di animali. Alcuni scorci molto carini con pozze dove ci si poteva tuffare. Calate semplici.

Checked the anchor points and integrated in the upper part where missing, now all the canyon is in order; detailed topo in Description/Tour. After a dry winter the upper Fonteno is not dry but the water flow is minimal, a pity for the animal carcasses in the pool cause they are cold but cristal clear. Water flow doubling in the lower cause inheriting from a tributary, creating a scenic double waterfall view under first pitch.
