Von Annecy auf der D909 (evtl. auch auf der D 16) nach Thônes. Weiter auf der D 16, zunächst in südlicher, später in östlicher Richtung in das Tal der Fier nach Manigod. Hier verlassen wir die D 16 und steuern in Richtung Tournance, La Charmette. 560m nach Tournance stellen wir vor der Brücke mit dem Schild "La Gutary" links der Straße unser Auto ab.

From Annecy on the D909 (possibly also on the D16) to Thônes. Continue on the D16, first in a southerly, later in an easterly direction into the valley of the Fier to Manigod. Here we leave the D 16 and head towards Tournance, La Charmette. 560m after Tournance we park our car before the bridge with the signs "La Gutary" on the left of the road.

Auf der Straße ca. 50m zurück, dann den Wiesenweg hinunter und über die Fier. Jenseits auf dem Weg weiter, bis ein Schild links aufwärts den Weg zur Cascade de Nant Burgeat weist. An dem Schlusswasserfall lässt sich der Wasserdurchsatz ersehen. Von hier auf dem Pfad wieder etwa 50m zurück und dann - teilweise steil - links hinauf. Wir kommen oben auf eine Wiese, die den Blick auf die Berge im Osten und Südosten freigibt. Nun halten wir über die - teilweise sumpfige - Wiese in deren südöstliches Eck und gelangen hier problemlos in das Bachbett. Sofern wir einen direkten Einstieg zum Beginn des vertikalen Bereiches suchen, gehen wir nach Erreichen der Wiese dort am linken Waldrand in östlicher Richtung direkt abwärts, treten in den Wald ein und stoßen direkt oberhalb des Baches auf ein Fixseil, das uns den Einstieg in das Bachbett erleichtert. Dieser direkte Zustieg verzichtet auf die beiden Rutschen am Beginn des üblichen Abstiegs.

Back along the road for about 50m, then down the meadow path and over the Fier. Continue along the path on the other side until a sign on the left uphill points the way to the Cascade de Nant Burgeat. You can see the water flow at the final waterfall. From here, follow the path back for about 50m and then - steeply in places - up to the left. At the top, we come to a meadow with a view of the mountains to the east and south-east. Now we cross the - partly swampy - meadow to its south-eastern corner and easily reach the streambed here. If we are looking for a direct entry to the beginning of the vertical area, we go directly downhill in an easterly direction on the left edge of the forest after reaching the meadow, enter the forest and come across a fixed rope directly above the streambed, which makes it easier for us to enter the streambed. This direct access avoids the two slides at the beginning of the usual descent.
