From the A26 motorway, continue along the SS 33 del Sempione. After the long tunnel, exit at Varzo. Once in the village, turn right towards S. Domenico. Continue up the valley beyond S. Domenico to the end of the road, near a bridge and a parking area on the right (paid).

Cross the bridge and continue along the dirt road towards Alpe Veglia. It is possible to shorten the first section by cutting across via the agriturismo, immediately to the right after the bridge, and rejoining the road further upstream. After an uphill section, the road becomes level and reaches a small chapel. Continue to a junction; to the right, a short descent leads to the water intake.

Some sections are not equipped; the correct route must be found by downclimbing among the gigantic boulders, especially in the final section. Escape routes: none.

After the final boulder chaos, follow the streambed or exit onto the meadows on the right, heading towards the bridge and the car.

The flow is always substantial. Water intake upstream.
