Von Santo Stefano di Cadore in Richtung Belluno, etwa 500m nach der Brücke über den Piave bei einem Bildstock nach links auf eine Asphaltstraße. Nachdem die Straße leider für den motorisierten Verkehr gesperrt ist muss man hier rechts parken.

From Santo Stefano di Cadore toward Belluno, about 500 meters past the bridge over the Piave, turn left onto an asphalt road at a wayside shrine. Since the road is unfortunately closed to motorized traffic, you’ll need to park on the right here.

Über die Asphaltstraße in etwa 15min zu einem kleinen Sattel mit gefasster Quelle, hier nach links auf eine Forststraße und bei der nächsten Abzweigung wieder links (Beschilderung 'La Ciodrata'). Die Forststraße wird bald zu einem Steig. Über den Rio Grande und wieder auf eine Forststraße und entlang dieser über viele Kehren bis auf etwa 1580m der CAI-Steig 330 nach links abzweigt. Über den alten Kriegssteig nochmals 100hm aufsteigen und dann ins Tal unserer Schlucht reinqueren.

Follow the paved road for about 15 minutes to a small saddle with a fenced-in spring; here, turn left onto a forest road and turn left again at the next junction (signposted “La Ciodrata”). The forest road soon becomes a path. Cross the Rio Grande and return to a forest road; follow it through many hairpin bends until, at about 1,580 m, CAI Path 330 branches off to the left. Climb another 100 hm along the old military path, then traverse into the valley of our canyon.

Die Tour beginnt etwa 20hm unter dem Wanderweg Die ersten 5 Abseiler sind noch offen bevor sich der Bach in eine erste Klamm einschneidet. Nach etwa 11 Abseilern und Abkletterpassagen öffnet sich die Schlucht kurz, eventuelle und einzige Rückzugsmöglichkeit bei Hochwasser. Dann wirds schnell wieder eng und tief. Je weiter man nach unten kommt desto fossilienreicher wird das Gestein. Die Klamm endet mit dem schon von unten sichtbaren 60m Wasserfall. Die darauffolgende 10m Stufe wird an einem Drahtseil links abgeklettert. Aktuell führen viele Abseiler noch über mehrere Becken und es gibt einige knifflige Abkletterpassagen. Die Tour würde sicher noch einige Haken vertragen.

The tour begins about 20hm below the hiking trail. The first 5 rappels are still open before the stream cuts into the first gorge. After about 11 rappels and downclimbs, the canyon opens up briefly—the only possible escape route in case of high water. Then it quickly becomes narrow and deep again. The further down you go, the more fossil-rich the rock becomes. The gorge ends with a 60-meter waterfall that’s already visible from below. The subsequent 10-meter step is downclimbed on the left using a wire rope. Currently, many rappels still lead over several pools, and there are several tricky downclimbs. The route could certainly use a few more anchors.

Über den Wanderweg retour zum Auto. Man könnte bis zum Abzweiger vom Troi dla Ciodrata mit dem Fahrrad zufahren um sich den langen Rückweg zu erleichtern.

Take the hiking trail back to the car. You could ride your bike as far as the turnoff for the Troi dla Ciodrata to make the long return trip easier.
