Von Santiago de Compostela auf der C543 nach Noia (37 km), weiter nordwärts immer am Meer entlang auf der C550 über Muros und Carnota nach Ezaro (insges. 114 km). Direkt vor Ezaro geht es auf einer Brücke über den Rio Xallas. Direkt nach der Brücke rechts ab und am Fluß entlang zum Central Hidroelectrica (ca. 1,5 km). Hier das (erste) Auto abstellen. Mit dem zweiten - oder zu Fuß in ca. 60 Min. - vor Erreichen des Central H. li. (nordwärts) auf der Teerstraße in Serpentinen steil hinauf zum Aussichtspunkt und von da weiter in nordöstlicher Richtung zum Staudamm (Presa de Santa Uxia). Von hier kann man noch in südwestlicher Richtung hinunterfahren bis zum Fluß (spätestens hier das zweite Fahrzeug abstellen).

From Santiago de Compostela on the C543 to Noia (37 km), further north always along the sea on the C550 via Muros and Carnota to Ezaro (total 114 km). Just before Ezaro there is a bridge over the Rio Xallas. Directly after the bridge turn right and drive along the river to the Central Hidroelectrica (approx. 1.5 km). Park the (first) car here. With the second car - or on foot in about 60 min. - before reaching the Central H. turn left (northward) on the tarred road in serpentines steeply up to the viewpoint and from there further in northeastern direction to the dam (Presa de Santa Uxia). From here you can still descend in a southwesterly direction to the river (park the second vehicle here at the latest).

7 Abseiler. Zur Einstimmung sollte man sich vom Central Hidroelectrica den Schlusswasserfall Cascada de Ézaro (50 m hoch) ansehen, wenn aus dem Stausee - meist um die Mittagszeit für etwa 30 Min. - Wasser abgelassen wird und aus dem 16 m tiefen Gumpen eine bis zu 40 m hohe Wolke aus Wasserstaub emporsteigt.Ein Anruf bei der Central Hidroelectrica vor Ort (Tel.: 981 712 703) könnte erfolglos sein, aber bei der Zentrale (Tel.: 981 706 700) gibt man bereitwillig Auskunft, ab wann man in den Xallas einsteigen kann (bei uns ab -'despues' 15:00 Uhr). Der Abstieg wird nach einer Lauf- und Schwimmstrecke bis zur erneuten Restwasserableitung in der Abfolge tiefer Gumpen in glattem Granitgestein zunehmend attraktiver bis zum Ausblick auf das nahe Meer oben am Schlusswasserfall, der sich etwa bei der Hälfte angenehm auf einem Absatz brechen lässt. Vor dem Schlusswasserfall kann man rechts aussteigen. Inzwischen scheint ein konstanter Wasserdurchsatz zu sein. Deshalb auf gefährliche Rückläufe achten. Der letzte Abseiler in den großen Gumpen erfolgt zwischen 2 Wasserrinnen außerhalb des Strahls.

You can get out on the right before the final waterfall. There now seems to be a constant flow of water. So watch out for dangerous backwaters. The last rappel into the large pool is between 2 water channels outside the stream.
