Von Reutte im Lechtal fahren wir zum Plansee und dort bis zu dem Weiler "Am Plansee" ( 9,8 km ab Fernpassstraße B 179, Ausfahrt Reutte Süd). Von hier folgen wir der Straße noch 2,5 km in nordwärts - am Torsäulenbach entlang - in Richtung Schloss Linderhof. Hier kreuzt die Brücke den Teufelstalbach (Schild an dem Brückengeländer). 25 m weiter können wir rechts einen Weg hineinfahren und hier unser Auto für den Ausstieg parken. Auch aus Richtung Oberammergau/Ettal ist eine Zufahrt möglich. Dazu verlassen wir die B23, die beide Orte verbindet, in westlicher Richtung auf die St2060 in Richtung Schloss Linderhof. Wir fahren an Linderhof vorbei, passieren die deutsch-österreichische Grenze und kommen 2,1 km nach Passieren der BMW-Tagungsstätte (früher Hotel Ammerwald) zur Brücke über den Bach aus dem Teufelstal. Mit einem zweiten Auto fahren wir in Richtung Plansee. Nach 1,6 km biegt rechts (nach Westen) eine Forststraße ab. Hier stellen wir am Rande der Teerstraße unser zweites Auto ab (1000m üNN).

From Reutte in Lechtal we drive to Plansee and there to the hamlet "Am Plansee" (9.8 km from Fernpassstraße B 179, exit Reutte Süd). From here we follow the road northwards for another 2.5 km - along the Torsäulenbach stream - in the direction of Linderhof Castle. Here the bridge crosses the Teufelstalbach (sign on the bridge railing). 25 m further on, we can take a path to the right and park our car here for the exit. Access is also possible from the direction of Oberammergau/Ettal. To do this, we leave the B23, which connects the two towns, in a westerly direction onto the St2060 towards Linderhof Castle. We drive past Linderhof, pass the German-Austrian border and 2.1 km after passing the BMW conference center (formerly Hotel Ammerwald) we come to the bridge over the stream from the Teufelstal. We take a second car in the direction of Plansee. After 1.6 km, a forest road turns off to the right (west). Here we park our second car at the edge of the tarred road (1000m above sea level).

Wir folgen dem ungeteerten Forststräßchen etwa 2,5 km bzw. gut 40 Minuten lang. Dann biegen wir bei einer Verzweigung rechts hinauf ab und kommen nach weiteren 10 Min. bzw. 550 m zur Bertlshütte (1240m üNN). Die Piste knickt 55m weiter nach rechts und nach weiteren 60m biegen wir von der Hauptpiste in spitzem Winkel links ab. 200m weiter kreuzt der Weg den Kreidebach. Einige Meter vorher zieht ein unschenbarer, weil wenig benutzter Weg rechts hinauf ab. In Serpentinen geht es zunächst den Hang aufwärts, später zieht der Pfad dann in östlicher Richtung hinauf zu einer großen Freifläche südlich der Altenberghütte (1490m üNN). Über die Wiese im Sattel weiter in nordöstlicher Richtung bergab stoßen wir auf ein von einer Quelle gespeistes Gerinne und folgen diesem hinunter zum Guggerbach. Auf diesen treffen wir dort, wo er vom Gugger (Altenberg) herabkommend einen 90 Grad - Knich in Richtung Osten macht. Hier steigen wir in den Bach.

We follow the unpaved forest road for about 2.5 km or a good 40 minutes. Then we turn right at a junction uphill and after another 10 min. or 550 m we come to the Bertlshütte (1240m above sea level). The track bends to the right 55m further on and after another 60m we turn left from the main track at an acute angle. 200m further on the trail crosses the chalk stream. A few meters before that, an unpredictable, because little used, path goes up to the right. In serpentines it first goes up the slope, later the path then goes up in an easterly direction to a large open area south of the Altenberg hut (1490m a.s.l.). Across the meadow in the saddle further downhill in a northeasterly direction we come across a channel fed by a spring and follow it down to the Guggerbach stream. We meet it where it makes a 90 degree bend to the east coming down from the Gugger (Altenberg). Here we enter the path.

Zunächst geraume Zeit im offenen Bachbett ohne nennenswertes Gefälle. Dann beginnt ein Gefälle, das mit zunehmender Dauer zunimmt. Etwa 20 Abseiler, viele davon mit Umlenker (Sauschwanzl). Die Einsicherung ist sehr gut und relativ neu (anno 2016).

At first, for a considerable time in the open streambed without any significant gradient. Then begins a gradient that increases with increasing duration. About 20 rappel, many of them with redirectors (Sauschwanzl). The belay is very good and relatively new (anno 2016).

An der Mündung des Guggerbaches in denTorsäulenbach queren wir letzteren, kommen zu Teerstraße und folgen dieser ca. 100m bachab bis zum Auto für den Ausstieg.

At the confluence of the Guggerbach and the Torsäulenbach we cross the latter, come to the tarred road and follow it downstream for about 100m to the car for the exit.
