Coming from Belluno, head towards Agordo and continue on the SS203 into the Cordevale Valley. After the village of Mas and Peron, at km. 16.030, on the left side of the road, you will see a house called "Casa Catoniera". Here you park the shuttle car (= parking exit or small parking possibility further ahead at the access road to the gravel parking lot with barrier). Here you can see the final waterfall from a distance. To get to the parking entry, take the second car and continue on the SS203 for about 3 km until you reach the small group of houses of La Muda. Here, on the left after the houses and a little below the main road, there is a parking lot. From here you can already see the pedestrian bridge that crosses the Cordevole. (Without a second car the access/return is prolonged by 30 minutes).

From the parking entry, cross the bridge. Then continue to the left along the flat forest road. After some time you will pass a farm. Follow the forest road on the right. You cross the Val Pegolera (streambed). The forest road, still wide, becomes steeper and narrower. After a rock with a stone marker and a stone manderl, the forest road turns into a hiking trail. After the high voltage pylons it is not far and you meet the open Val del Mus (entry at about 700m).

The rappel is generally two expansion hooks connected with a sling, chain anchors in the higher rappel. The rappel almost all lead through the water stream which is not a problem with the mostly low water flow.\The tour starts right after the trail crossing with a low but nice washed out gorge \n * 18m over two steps rappel from anchor left\n * 3m slide\n * 15m rappel from anchor left\n * 14m rappel from anchor left\n * 2m downclimb\n * 4m rappel from anchor left\n * 3m jump\n * 20m rappel from hook right\n * 2m jump\n * 5m rappel from hook right\n * 32m rappel from hook left\n * 5m jump\n * emergency exit to left or right (red dots on tape)\n * 8m rappel from hook left\n * 6m slide into a deep pool\n * 14m rappel/slide, narrow, anchor left\n * The next rappels follow blow after blow and are separated by deep pools. \n * 15m rappel, anchor left\n * 20m rappel, anchor right\n * 60m rappel under rock bridge, anchor and rope slings left. After 40m and 45m respectively, there would be bad intermediate stands\n above and below an overhang * 18m rappel from anchor left. We have recently been told that everything should be ok in Val Mus. The 1st step should be downclimbed. Unfortunately, it should be very slippery in and out of the water.

I heard all anchors are intact and rebelay on the 65 m is new and at a large break under the old spit bolts. So can be broken into smaller abseils, also heard it’s suprisingly fun!

I heard that I was in this canyon in May 2023. I also saw two brand new anchors on the ledge in the middle of the C 65. This means you can currently walk the Val de Mus with shorter ropes (I would recommend 45 meters). But beware, if the new bolts have disappeared again, only the old ones remain, which were actually very rusty (I was told).
