From Castejon de Sos in the Valle d'Esera, we take the A-139 to Eriste (bridge over the river of the same name). 230 m further on, we turn left onto Calle Alta. The road climbs in many hairpin bends, the tarred road turns into a dirt road and exits at the Espigantosa parking lot. We park our car here.

We continue along the subsequent path and cross the Rio Eriste on the Puente Espigantosa. We continue along the path in the direction of Refugio Angel Orús, Pico de Posets. The canyon is down to the right and we can catch a glimpse of the Salto del Oso waterfall. The hiking trail forks. To the left is the Refugio Angel Orús, but we stay to the right and ascend parallel to the stream, albeit at a certain distance. The path crosses the eastern bank of the Eriste at 1920m above sea level. We join the path here. Büdeler/Flitner describe an access a little further up in their book.

10 Rappels. Descent in wild high mountain landscape. After the first passage through the gorge, exit right onto the path and only rejoin at the bridge (part II). Walking passages again after the second narrow section. The final passage of this descent begins with the Salto del Oso (22m). The canyon opens up and we get off at the bridge.
