The Antrogna stream is a beautiful succession of fairly easy rappels. The flow is often low and can be assessed at the start. The pools are shallow, making this a route well suited to beginners. However, the access route is not easy to find.

The Antrogna stream is a beautiful succession of fairly easy rappels. The flow is often low and can be assessed at the start. The pools are shallow, making this a route well suited to beginners. However, the access route is not easy to find.
Anfahrt:
From Domodossola, drive to Piedimulera and continue up the Anza Valley. One kilometre before Pontegrande, turn right onto the road to Calasca. After 1.5 km, towards Antrogna, the stream is crossed at a right-hand bend just below the church. There is a parking area before the bridge.
Zustieg (2 h):
Take the path climbing on the right bank, pass Alpe Cascinolo, then Alpe Bobbio, where a trail can be found at about 1,400 m elevation leading towards the canyon. The trail eventually disappears. Continue descending toward the stream until reaching the confluence of two tributaries. A detailed map of the area and an altimeter are essential to locate the access point more easily. Allow about two hours of walking if you do not lose the route.
Tour (6 h):
Depending on the water flow, the upper part of the wetsuit may remain in the backpack. From the start, six beautiful rappels follow one another through a fairly confined section. A short walk leads to a series of waterfalls and small pools. A tributary entering from the left bank at 1,015 m elevation serves as a useful landmark. The descent then continues pleasantly through a fairly wide gorge where several easy escape routes should exist. Three other small tributaries feed the stream. In total, 28 rappels punctuate the descent. Towards the end, several pleasant natural slides (toboggans) lead to a footbridge. The continuation is interesting, but the water is polluted by the village sewage system; therefore, we recommend exiting here by taking the path on river right and descending to the vehicles.
Rückweg (5 min):
Upon reaching the village, take the path on river right at the footbridge. It leads down to the parking area.
