Lower Parking: From Verbania, continue along the lake shore towards Cannobio on the SS 34. At Km 37, park at a pullout just before the stream exit. Upper Parking: Head back along the road for about 1 km and turn right towards Cinzago. Reach the village and park where possible shortly before the paved road ends.

Walk through the village and continue along a mule track towards the Sanctuary of San Bartolomeo. After 10 minutes you cross the stream, which is the starting point of the descent.

A few rappels might present some issues only in high flow conditions. The anchor for the 50 m rappel (C50) is not easy to reach if you descend too far from the previous rappel. Locate the anchor before rappelling down.

Exit directly at the car. If you continue all the way down to the lake, pay attention to private properties.

A water intake just upstream of the entry point. The intake diverts about a quarter of the natural flow.
