Resumen:
A very open and discontinuous canyon in the upper section, with long stretches of strenuous walking over rocks. The final section is nice and interesting.
Acceso:
From the A26 highway, exit at Piedimulera and head towards Macugnaga, driving up Valle Anzasca. Once in Pontegrande, turn left towards Bannio Anzino. At a hairpin bend, continue right towards Bannio. Drive through the village and keep straight, passing other hamlets. At a junction, turn left towards Valpiana - Case Rovazzi. Continue further until the road descends to a bridge. Park past the bridge near the end of a penstock.
Acceso (1 h 40):
Immediately after the road bridge, take a mule track on the left that descends to the bridge over the stream, where you can evaluate the flow. Cross it and continue flat through the woods. Shortly after, turn right uphill to reach a second mule track and follow it to the left. Passing a cabin shortly after, leave the mule track and turn right uphill, passing behind the cabin and continuing up through the woods. After passing more cabins, the faint trail climbs very steeply until reaching a dirt road. Follow it to the right to quickly reach Alpe Rondirenco. Among the cabins, follow the signs for Val Rosenza. Past the alpine pasture, the trail levels out into the valley, passing more cabins (Alpe Cresta). At a certain point, you will reach a small aqueduct building. Continue a bit further until crossing a wide, usually dry channel. Immediately after, head down into the woods off-trail to the streambed, reaching the first rappel.
Recorrido (5 h):
French-style chain anchors and spit/expansion bolts (Starfix). Some rappels are not equipped and need to be rigged on natural anchors.
Regreso (5 min):
Just before the bridge, exit on the right and follow the approach path back to the car.

Hidrología:
Snowbridges/snowfields may be present in the upper section even late in the season. Water flow is usually moderate and can be assessed from the exit bridge. Note that the flow is reduced by a water intake halfway through. A water intake located before the final section reduces the water flow.
