Long access in the high grass through a nature park to a beautiful canyon last section right before the sea. Best time in spring or after rain. Very long and though return.
Acceso:
If returning by boat leave a car in Port de Soller, big paid parking near Parc Municipal. With the other car follow directions for "Vinyes Mortitx", but do not enter the iron gate if open and look for a parking right outside (limited space) or along the road.
Acceso (1 h 30):
Enter by the iron gat if open, otherwise a small pedestrian wood gate is available on the right. Follow the main road until a stone hut (generally locked) marked as a refugio, soon after crossing a dry streambed an indicated path branches off to the right and from here it goes continuously down through the canyon to the entry passin in the high grass. If there is a lot of water, you can put on the wetsuit already at the mouth of the Torrent de s'Hort des Moli coming from the left, otherwise climb around the first basin Gorg Larg on the right, pass the following basin Gorg del Bec d'Oca then on the left and past a prominent rock tower, from here on the stream is called Torrent Fondo.
Recorrido (1 h 30):
Short but impressive and varied canyon makes up for the long access and return journey, if there is enough running water in the pools. If you decide to climb back up in the canyon, check at each pitch whether it is possible to climb back up by fixed ropes or by leaving yours. The last section before the sea is particularly beautiful, with the highest pitch of 20m. Right before the sea on the right you can notice the start of via ferrata or descend the last pitch to the sea.
Regreso (3 h):
Option 1: climb back the canyon, in most of the initial pitches there are fixed ropes while you should leave your ropes in the last 2/3 pitches which are the major ones; beware that the last pitch to the sea is not well equipped and needs to be climbed back too or avoided to descend. Once gained the beginning of the canyon simply use the same approach path. Option 2: return by boat, contact Sollermar which will wait for you at the canyon end and bring you back to Port de Soller; beware that there is barely no mobile connection in the canyon and at the end, so plan well in advance the timing and agree the collection time Option 3: climb the via ferrata that can be found on the right bank just before the last pich to the sea, which is visually and reported to be in bad conditions (update 2026). Steep, rugged rock faces with climbing up to 3rd degree and once reached the edge of the cliffs, you have to cross a very confusing cart field and than ascend briefly eastwards into a saddle. From there you can go trough the wide basin above the cliffs or back down into the valley and return by the access path, otherwise follow the path for the witches' caves.

Avvicinamento selvaggio nella meravigliosa natura di Maiorca. Scorrimento d'acqua dalla torre di roccia in poi e per tutta la forra. La maggior parte delle cascate è attrezzata con corde fisse in buono stato. Molte possibilità per tuffi e toboga. Abbiamo utilizzato la nostra corda solo sulle due verticali più alte e sulle ultime due prima del mare (non attrezzate con fittoni resinati). Siamo scesi fino al mare e utilizzato il motoscafo per il rientro a Port Soller (Sollermar: 450€ per 8 persone).
Wild approach in the beautiful nature of Mallorca. Water flow from the rock tower onward and throughout the gorge. Most of the falls are equipped with fixed ropes in good condition. Many possibilities for diving and tobogganing. We used our rope only on the two highest verticals and on the last two before the sea (not equipped with resin-bonded ropes). We went down to the sea and used the speedboat to return to Port Soller (Sollermar: 450€ for 8 people).

Wasser ca. ab dem markanten Felsturm. Stände alle tiptop mit großteils Fixseilen. Unser eigenes Seil haben wir nur am höchsten Abseiler gebraucht. Vieles ist spring- und rutschbar. Das Meer war spiegelglatt, sodass wir den coolen Siphon im letzten Becken machen konnten. Rückweg nicht ganz ohne!
Water from about the prominent rock tower. Stands all tiptop with mostly fixed ropes. We only needed our own ropes on the highest rappel. Much of it is jumpable and slippable. The sea was as smooth as glass, so we were able to do the cool siphon in the last pool. The way back was not without its difficulties!

Super schöne Tour in toller Landschaft! Zustieg durch den trockenen Graben dann ein paar Pools die man umklettern kann bis der Canyon startet. Ein Teil der Gruppe ist nach dem Sprung ins Meef vom Boot abgeholt worden der andere Teil über den "Klettersteig" an der Steilküste hoch und dann zurück gewandert...
Superiore tour in great scenic surroundings! Access through the dry ditch then a few pools that you can climb around until the canyon starts. One part of the group was picked up by the boat after the jump into the Meef, the other part hiked up the "via ferrata" on the steep coast and then back...

Wasser recht kalt, super rutschig an vielen Stellen. Absicherung super, Fixseile fast überall vorhanden, wir haben unser Seil nur 2x gebraucht (20m Abseiler und am Schluss der optionale "Abkletterer" ins Meer) Ausstieg nichts für schwache Nerven, Kletteraufstieg in luftigen Höhen teils ohne Absicherung bzw recht ausgesetzt, zwischenzeitig sehr dünnes Drahtseil, aber wenigstens was hihi würde ich für Anfänger/ Höhenempfindliche nicht unbedingt empfehlen. Sehr scharfer Stein -> auf jeden Fall Handschuhe mitnehmen! Alles in allem, mega schön, vor allem die Aussicht aufs Meer vom Klettersteig aus :)
Water quite cold, super slippery in many places. Superiore protection, fixed ropes available almost everywhere, we only needed our rope twice (20m rappel and at the end the optional "downclimb" into the sea). Exit not for the faint-hearted, climbing ascent at lofty heights partly without protection or quite exposed, in between very thin wire rope, but at least something hihi I would not necessarily recommend for beginners/sensitive to heights. Very sharp rock -> definitely take gloves! All in all, mega beautiful, especially the view of the sea from the via ferrata :)

Sortie par VF sans problème, mais ne pas compter sur la solidité du câble. MR on a opté pour le Mas Rafael. Für eine super Canyoning Tour braucht man einen sensationellen Canyon, optionale Bedingungen, eine gute Truppe und einen möglichst komfortablen zustieg und Rückweg. Meistens. Für Mortitx gilt, dass man ehr gute Bedingungen (Sonne & optimale Wassermenge) und eine gute Truppe braucht. Wenn man dann noch mit der Einstellung herangeht, dass man eine ausgiebige Wanderung unternimmt, welche zwischendurch ein paar Stunden Canyoning enthält, dann darf man sich auf einen perfekten, sensationellen Tag freuen! Mit Wasser ist Mortitx ein traumhafter Canyon. Für den Rückweg empfehlt es sich, eine Taschenlampe und einen Kompass oder GPS dabei zu haben, da man auf dem Rückweg durch das Gras bei Dunkelheit potenziell die Orientierung verlieren kann. For Mortitx, you need good conditions (sun & optimal water quantity) and a good group. If you then approach it with the mindset that you are undertaking an extensive hike, which includes a few hours of canyoning in between, then you can look forward to a perfect, sensational day! With water, Mortitx is a fantastic canyon. For the way back, it is advisable to have a flashlight and a compass or GPS with you, as you can potentially lose your bearings on the way back through the grass in the dark.
