Von Oloron-Sainte-Marie fahren wir auf der D-919, später dann D-918 in Richtung Tardets(-Sorholus). 1 km vor Erreichen der Ortschaft Tardets stoßen wir auf die D-26 und folgen ihr 8,3 km in südlicher Richtung (Larrau, St. Engrace). Dann biegen wir links ab auf die D-113 und kommen 5,5 km nach La Caserne mit der Mairie (Bürgermeisteramt) de Saite-Engrace.
Unmittelbar nach La Caserne biegen wir halbrechts von der D-113 ab und queren 450 m weiter den Fluss (Gave de Sainte-Engrace). Bei der Verzweigung 70 m weiter bleiben wir rechts und fahren am Schluchtrand aufwärts. In einer Haarnadelkurve nach links stellen wir unser (ggf. unteres) Auto ab (400 m nach der letzten Verzweigung).
Mit einem zweiten Auto geht es in einem weiten Rechtsbogen weiter hinauf, bis wir (3,2 km ab dem unteren Parkplatz) den oberen Parkplatz in einer Linkskehre erreichen vgl.: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HVFWE5znEu4/UlwbPaGi53I/AAAAAAAAMTI/G16gY9o1Ia8/s1600/Plano+Ourdaibi.bmp

From Oloron-Sainte-Marie, take the D-919, then the D-918 towards Tardets(-Sorholus). 1 km before reaching the village of Tardets, we join the D-26 and follow it for 8.3 km in a southerly direction (Larrau, St. Engrace). Then turn left onto the D-113 and continue for 5.5 km to La Caserne with the Mairie (mayor's office) de Saite-Engrace.
Immediately after La Caserne, turn half right off the D-113 and cross the river (Gave de Sainte-Engrace) 450 m further on. At the fork 70 m further on, stay right and continue up the canyon rim. In a hairpin bend to the left, we park our (possibly lower) car (400 m after the last fork).

Im glattgewaschenem Kalkstein und klarem Wasser geht es abwärts. Mit Baumverhau muss gerechnet werden. Schon 1999 fest installierte Handläufe. Längere Laufstrecken. Vorsicht beim 28 m-Wasserfall: Loch in der Rinne unter dem Wasserstrahl !
In the smooth washed limestone and clear water it goes downhill. Tree entanglement must be expected. Already in 1999 firmly installed handrails. Longer runs. Caution at the 28 m waterfall: hole in the chute under the water jet !

Nach einem 5 m-Abseiler und etwa 250 m Laufstrecke sehen wir rechterhand eine Metallleiter, über die wir die rechte Böschung ersteigen. Dann sind es nur noch ein paar Meter zum Auto.
