Von Dornbirn auf der Bundesstraße 190 südlich (etwa 7 km) nach Hohenems - oder über die Ausfahrt 'Hohenems' der Autobahn Bregenz - Feldkirch. Von der B 190 in etwa der Ortsmitte von Hohenems südostwärts ab und dem Wegweiser 'Schuttannen' folgend steil hinauf, zuerst auf geteerter, dann auf ungeteerter Straße. Auf etwas über 1000 m ü.NN erreicht man man eine Hochfläche mt einigen Almen und parkt vor der Absperrung mit dem Weiderost.

From Dornbirn on the B 190 south (about 7 km) to Hohenems - or via the exit 'Hohenems' of the highway Bregenz - Feldkirch. From the B 190 in about the center of Hohenems turn off southeastward and follow the signpost 'Schuttannen' steeply uphill, first on paved, then on unpaved road. At a little over 1000 m above sea level, you reach a plateau with some alpine pastures and park in front of the barrier with the pasture grate.

Durch das eiserne Drehkreuz kommt man auf den Feldweg, der in nördlicher Richtung zuerst eben dahinzieht, vorbei an je einem Brunnentrog rechts und links, dann leicht abfallend hinabführt in den Wald. Auf einer Brücke quert man den Feienbach. Etwa 100 m weiter verzweigt sich der Weg. Wir nehmen den linken Ast und marschieren auf diesem hinab, bis wir wieder den Feienbach queren. Am orograf. li. Ufer den Weg noch etwa 200 m bachabwärts bis zum Einstieg an oder etwas unterhalb der gemauerten Stufe. Alternativer Zustieg vom Tal aus: http://www.tfj.ch/karren-dornbirn/dornbirn-fallbach.html. 2. Alternative: Seilbahn Karrenbahn benutzen.

Passing through the iron turnstile, you reach the dirt road, which initially runs flat toward the north, past a water trough on the right and another on the left, then descends gently into the forest. You cross the Feienbach on a bridge. About 100 m further on, the trail forks. Take the left fork and follow it downhill until you cross the Feienbach again. On the orographic left bank, continue along the path for about 200 m downstream to the entry at or slightly below the stone step. Nur zu Beginn attraktiver Waldgraben mit ziemlich glattem Geläuf. In der Regel eher dürftiger Wasserdurchsatz. Wenn man nicht am Ende des Feientobels links auf den Pfad aussteigt, sondern weiter bachab geht, kommt man nach wenigen hundert Metern zu einem angeblich 100 m hohen Abseiler (kann wohl nach etwa 60m gebrochen werden), der für entsprechend Interessierte vielleicht das 'Highlight' bedeutet. Dann empfiehlt sich aber der Anstieg auf dem genannten Steig von unten (vgl. Link oben bei Zustiegsalternative) oder ein aufwendiges Umsetzen der Fahrzeuge.

Only at the beginning is there an attractive forest canyon with fairly smooth terrain. Water flow is generally rather meager. If, at the end of the Feientobel, you don’t turn left onto the trail but continue downstream, after a few hundred meters you’ll reach a rappel section reportedly 100 m high (which can likely be broken up after about 60 m)—perhaps the “highlight” for those interested. However, in that case, it’s recommended to take the ascent via the path mentioned above (see link above under “Alternative Approach”) or to go to the trouble of moving your vehicles around.

Entweder nach Ende des Feientobels auf den Pfad, der den Bach hier kreuzt links hinauf und zurück zum Auto (60 Min.) oder im Fallbach weiter und hinunter in's Tal bei Dornbirn. Dort zu dem hier für den Ausstieg geparkten Auto.

Either after the exit of the Feientobel on the path that crosses the stream here left up and back to the car (60 min.) or continue in the Fallbach and down into the valley near Dornbirn. There to the car parked here for the exit.
